Winter Olympic Games review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Winter Olympic Games for the SEGA Genesis developed and published by U.S. Gold.

Back in 1994, the next best thing to actually being in Lillehammer for the Winter Olympic Games was playing them on your SEGA Genesis! Take to the slopes, hit the slalom and compete in all your favorite winter games in this simple collection of sports minigames. Name your character, pick your country and go for the gold! Events include biathlon, luge, slalom, downhill alpine and more. If you’ve never gone skiing with a rifle, you should at least try it on your SEGA Genesis with Winter Olympic Games. The game includes single-player and local multiplayer on the SEGA Genesis.

You don't suppose to keep the arrow in the middle, you must move it from left to right in the yellow area (don't come in the green erea cause it slows you down)

With ski-jump you must keep the arrow in the middle before jumping (Look at the intro of this review: The arrow is all up, that means Derek wasn't pressing any button at all).

From the very start I was thinking Derek's gonna bash this game cause that's what he always does with games he doesn't know how to play.

If you don't have the manuel of a game just look at the internet for the game's controls before making a review of it!

I had the SNES version as a kid and I don't think I beat one event. Still, the music on that version is fantastic. It's too bad the music of pretty much any Genesis game sounds like a garbled Casio fart.

Yeah, this game is pretty awful.  It IS better than the handheld version of the game, but that's saying little... if you want a decent winter sports game on the Genesis, stick to Accolade's Winter Challenge.  This one may have more variety of events (Winter Challenge is mostly skiing and bobsled), but they're actually decent.  Slow-paced and dated, but decent.  I like Summer Challenge more than Winter Challenge -- it's got more variety -- but both are good games for the time.

Derek, why don't you research the controls of the game and then review it. Not knowing how to control the game doesn't mean the game sucks, it just means you didn't take the time to find out.
