Survivorman host Les Stroud uses the power of Twitter to answer the internet’s burning questions about outdoor survival. How do survivalists subsist on one bug a day? How does one keep from inhaling too much smoke from a fire? How does Les prepare for a trip? How does he keep his camera batteries charged during excursions?

14:23. That's kink shaming.
My "normal" life in Kitchener, Ontario just turned into a sad life in New Mumbai within the past few years. I'm thinking that being alone in the woods sounds pretty good.
This guy always seemed way more legit than bear grylls.
I also size packing boxes by how many bottles of wine they fit.
How about bears and firearms.
Instructions unclear, car survival kit is now 24 bottles of wine
You can always start a fire with just 2 sticks.
… as long as one is a match.
In like 3rd grade someone came in to teach kids about making our own survival kits, we all brought in little cookie tins and they showed us how/why to use everything as we filled them. 💜
And then in high school part of the curriculum involved car emergency kits and we had to build one and do a little project, and afterwards most kids just left their “projects” in their car because might as well (or laziness) and I know a few people who ended up saving their lives because of them.
God Les Stroud is such a stud…
The section about "going on an adventure" is so underrated and profound.
I’m 30 seconds in and the consideration of “he or she” made me 🥹🥹🥹🥹💛💛💛💛
How do you not inhale a bunch of smoke while starting a fire? Chocolate rain bro.
This guy is such a ham😅
Those poor pieces of moss 😂
Schwing!
I would do it but right now I'm pregnant so I don't think that would be highly smart of me 😂😂😂😂
He's loads better that Bear Grylls for me Bear gets people into trouble by doing silly things like back flips just not needed
My favorite survival show is Survivorman. My favorite episodes are the Australian Outback, Canadian Artic, and Artic Tundra. I also like the one in the South Pacific, not because it was hard survival, but how you easily gathered what you did. It looked more like thriving, not surviving and I liked that. I can no longer get the shows on TV, so I watch them on Youtube. Les, you're not only great in these shows, but also a very good musician, singer and author. Looking forward to your new projects.
Scottish highlands are actually extremely nearby civilisation anywhere in the country – in an emergency it would be extremely unlikely you'd have to overnight before rescue. Scotland is a tiny place compare to say a US state!
I love Les Stroud AND Bear Grylls. I know Les is 1000x more realistic and legit but theyre both super entertaining. Bear would win in a fight. Les would win in survival.
Benefits of being a smoker
You always have a lighter
Non benefits- everything else
Jury is out on nicotine as just like caffeine it has it's uses
And it supposedly potentiates opiates
But the research isn't fully clear on that as to why, unless someone has read it, then I'd love to know more
Don't maggots eat rotten meat?
So you're eating both with the maggots versus just one? But also you could eat the eggs without seeing them on the meat, so you're kinda always eating both
That's how to philosophize that question
I would die without quick access to food lol I’ve got almost no body fat and a metabolism too fast for my own good
You know somebody is putting a plastic tote in their car with 24 wine bottles and saying Les Stroud told me too, lol.
Amazing answers Les so simple, thanks for the information
This was great–thanks, Les!
