Haven't been able to see the show because it's on Amazon Prime. From what I've seen it seems alright, would I have written it differently, yes, but that's not saying much. Kind of wish the NCR went into a civil war between expansionists (those who wanted to continue to expand the republic and preservationists (those who wanted to keep the republic the size it is and maintain it). Having nuked itself out of spite (similar to Nero burning Rome down) or as a way to create a fabricated tragedy in hopes of reuniting the nation. Instead, this would embolden the enemies of the NCR, leading to a war that was unwinnable Lucy would have been a nomad in my version of the story. If she were from a vault, it would have been one destroyed or taken over by raiders or one where the raiders captured the other vault dwellers, making freeing her fellow vault dwellers the main motivation of the story. Drifter would be the preferred route. Then again, I recognize how much effort and energy went into making the series, even if I have a different vision for what it would have been doesn't mean it was bad.

I’m extremely certain that it was the enclave and enclave affiliated vault-tec higherups that dropped the nukes, they were the only ones ready for the bombs

I just think they need to let the show be it... the show... but not get in the game's canon, like branded with iron and fire, cuz that will abstract the player of the meaning to play it (or the many retcons/miss matches, like FO76...) I really just want to enjoy all...

This is my exact reaction, im glad he loves it too. It feels fallout, and the huge thing too me is that lore wise, everything they are adding feels realistic, in the sense it could be from the world, they really are not taking to many liberty's with the source material, and they just nailed the atmosphere. Also Cooper being the original vault boy and his whole character arch was just so amazing, i will legit be mad if we dont see more of him in cannon. Edit: When he mentioned them "considering it a sort of fallout 5" im actually here for all of this to be cannon like that.

I love the show too, great acting, amazing actors, good attention to detail, however i dont like the pacing personally, they kindve rushed through everything, and in doing so kindve diminish or separate our own characters choices in the games, i hope they slow down for the next seasons and really go in depth with storytelling because i need more fallout😂

Ghoul and Lucy are awesome imo, Maximus is meh imo but that is maybe because I don't like BoS.

5:51 Lucy, the main character, starts with an exposition and narration of how she is a Mary Sue with girl power. Cranking pipe wrenches, hitting bullseyes, doing gymnastics and flying arm bars. I’m sure the real reason you like the show is bc now some eyes are on you and you have a bias bc of it

Bro I respect you so much for the first Fallout games, but for you to like this crap of a show .. It doesnt FEEL like Fallout, it feels like corporate soulless trash of a show which cares more about liberal gender roles and minority representation than story and atmosphere.. For Christ sake, this is not an adult show, it feels like its PGI 13, if there wasn't for cringeworthy gory moments..

I thought the same thing when I saw the scene with Lucy asking the guy for directions, it felt very much like fallout, and the same thing with the way the 3 characters felt like different playthroughs

One thing that stood out for me about the show is that they handled a strong female protagonist well, which seems rare these days.

She's being subjected to a kind of Luke Skywalker character arc where she begins as a naive and unskilled newb and gets taught harsh lessons by the wasteland itself, rather than starting out as a Mary Sue

I thought the show was ok. Idk why but i wish they gave it a more survical grim setting. Jsut didnt get thay vibe from it idk why. Felt like a citcom from scene to scene.

A friend of mine was one of the writers on the og fallout. He sadly passed away and I've wondered if he got to see anything from early pre-production. I think he would have loved to see what was coming

I just have one issue with the show. It seems to me that the way a lot of the big secrets are revealed is abit too ..dumb. The big plot twists happen when the main characters just walk in and see it. A big open door that anyone could have walked into and seen the same thing, but no-one did..? How did anyone else not discover these life-changing secrets when they were in plain sight the whole time? And why are there no children in any of the vaults?

Regarding Vault Tec nuking i agree with him, but i also think that between the end of the prequel scene of the Ghoul (where Cooper listens the meeting), and the beginning of the series (with the birthday party and the explosion), there are at least several days where maybe Cooper publicly takes position against Vault Tech (the 2 men seems kinda surprised that a big shot likes Cooper is performing at a birthday party, so he probably had a "fall from grace" from famous actor to "disgusting commie").
So probably Cooper and Barb divorced, and Janey was forced to stay with a different parent each week (or something like that), so Barb didn't had any way to stop her daughter to potentially risk her life when she was with her father...
...and Cooper didn't knew when the bombing where scheduled (if it was scheduled and not something that happened with very few days of preparation), so he brought her daughter to "work", during a quick performance, and then the bombs fell.

Never played fallout before but I found the npc dialogues/ scenes very charming. It's exactly what im looking for in an adaptation.
