The Xbox Series X has found its way to press and YouTubers as they work to test the system with different games. During live streams some are claiming that the system is running extremely hot leading to concerns around overheating online.

Your right we did beef up the cooling system. We just released a black version of the Series S ( all digital edition ) an the new Xbox series X pro we took the tower an cut it in half an then we changed the cooling system.

I’ve mentioned liquid cooling but the problem is the manufacturer of the liquid cooling system would need to shrink the size of the system to fit in the Xbox, although we have seen people use AIO liquid cooling systems it’s not very clean but they do try to make it work.

I’ve been designing Xbox consoles for 12 years. So you will see the new Xbox consoles soon but the pro version will not be released until 2024.

As for my personal series x mines in a cube case an a custom made XSPC waterblock is bolted to the console where the massive heat sink would be. It’s quite interesting how the console performs with liquid cooling vs fans. So it’s : D5 pump, 1/2 ID tubing, CPC NS6 panel mounts , a fish tank chiller & the custom XSPC made waterblock. If you want a waterblock for your Series X it’s $250.00

i bought a fan that stands behind my xsx,but still it overheats after 15 min....it was good for 2 years,then the overheat happens all the time.....I think im going to buy a ps5

i bought the xbox series x on 15-3-2023, it is warm at the top during operation but no over heating yet.

Question. My sons room is the hottest room in the house because of Xbox and his big tv. He keeps turning the air down to 70 ! I don’t think so! So is there any devise or something I can use or buy to remove heat like an exhaust fan… but not an exhaust fan!!?? Anyone?!

I appreciate you making this video as of today I played a game on my Xbox series X for the first time I was blown away by how good it ran however when I turned off my Xbox after about 5 hours of play time it felt very warm almost hot to the touch which is why I was a little bit concerned thank you for putting my mind at ease

The most common sense thing to say is hoe hot is it in their homes? No air-conditioned room will cause it to overheat, duuuuhhhhhh! Problem solved, you see it here first in this comment 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I've never had a problem because I keep a cool or cold room.

Just got a series x yesterday and it stays hot even in idle I do have remote access on so maybe that is why. Deff a concern for me since it shouldn’t be doing anything causing it to warm up.

Had to put an external 140mm intake fan on the bottom and another 140mm exhaust fan at the top. Case on the processor side doesn't get hot to the touch anymore and it's not cold enough to cause condensation. Here's a fun fact. Microsoft can't get simple cooling right? Did they do their QA in Siberia?

Ok so I just got my Xbox series X like 3 days ago it works fine everything seems ok but it’s letting off a lot of heat from the top vent not right away but after like 2 hours of playing it gets soo freaking hot honestly feels like a little tower heater! So is this normal I mean I get it this system is a beast does a ton but idk if I should be worried or if this is normal someone please help ✋

The Xbox360 I had was similar then the glossy Xbox 360 so wouldn’t my Xbox 360 have that red ring of death since mine isn’t really the sim version

It does get hot. Just downloading games it puts out way more heat than my beast gaming pc downloading games.

One thing is when have a USB hard drive connected and switch off the Xbox...still you can feel some heat because is still working....
Can you avoid that or you just to unplug the external USB hard drive time to time?

I just bought an Xbox series x and I have it laying on the side and when I was playing for half an hour it was hot iron hot.

Why they leave out the series s? It does pretty much the same as the series x. Rather its standing up or laying on its side the heat goes from the top, but if I play cyberpunk 2077 the system gets heated up very quickly but not overheating.

Hello, I know this video is over a year old. I’m a little late to the game I just got my Xbox series X about four days ago. And I’ve noticed when it’s in standby mode it is quite warm in the front the sides. I was just wondering if this is normal on the standby mode or should I put it on energy saving mode. Thank you. Man i already hate my xbox since day 1 and heating in forza fifa and now 2k cant even play a single match with out crushing and shuting down and got it for like 700 dollars i regret every cent spend it on that sh.t

The worst xbox console ever is series x. its running so hot all the time that i need to disable options like 4k so not to melt my brand new console graphic card and processor while playing some games that my old xbox one s is running cool without issues. i am very dissapointing that series x is even hot to touch on both sides. and there are still not real series x games to push the processor. i think when they came out series x consoles will explode one after the other with the red ring.

A very simple test will explain....
Run your xbox without the internet connected .
Run your xbox with the internet connected.
Don't play anything just let it run without switching off.
You will be amazed that running with the internet connected, and nothing else, causes the xbox to heat up...
Why.?
