I don’t know I loved the black cauldron growing up. Yes, it’s scary, but I still love that movie.

The subway scene in Oliver and company really scared me as a child, I can't watch it now as an adult.

Many of these legendary/famous popular/beloved iconic awesome/influential successful unforgettable timeless classic animated Disney films all aimed at families & small young little kids ages 10 and under & younger than 11 years old are not only darker and more dramatic/serious but they should have been rated PG in the United States Canada and the United Kingdom and never should have been rated G

I heard that The Hunchback of Notre Dame was Disney’s darkest movie, although after seeing that bit of The Black Cauldron, I kind of get it

@Dom5hedew April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

If I was one of the hunters in Bambi and I saw those animals dying, that is the moment that I would betray my country and become a soldier of Russia. Which will thankfully never happen.

@Alex-ng6hc April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

How I miss the days when Disney films ventured into dark territories

@ippolit4262 April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

Legend of sleepy hollow is one of the best ever 🙂

@noahppinkrevail April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

Where is the Brave little toaster?

@GabrielCortez-yu7ce April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

Guys, these are the darkest Disney films. Sheesh!They were not even PG.

@youtubeaccountserio2633 April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

I did not watch the video but the Black Cauldron is number one! The darkest Disney movie of all time or was disturbing from the music to everything! It had a lot of subliminal messages

@cole-rr9me April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

I loved the black cauldron but now when I look back at it it’s really frickin dark

@user-qi9gs6uk1t April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

Don't forget Hercules. (The scene where he dives into the whirl pool of dead ghosts and souls to get the girl he loves. and his face and body starts getting old and wrinkled til it's just plain creepy)

@iggy9790 April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

There is a profound difference between a Kids Movie and a Family Film

Top 15 Darkest Disney Movies IMO

15. Mulan – The scene where Mulan and the other soldiers see the village on fire is definitely the darkest moment from that movie

14. The Rescuers – It captures the horrors of slavery, kidnapping and abuse

13. Pocahontas – This movie captures the horrors of war and racism and Ratcliffe’s actions shows what racism is like

12. The Fox and the Hound – The scene where Copper and his hunter tries to kill Tod shows how friendship can turn into enemies

11. The Lion King – Mufasa’s death is one of the most disturbing scenes not only in Disney history but film history as well

10. Dumbo – The Pink Elephants scene is scary, especially the parts where they get into the camera makes you think they are going towards your face, pretty scary isn’t it

9. Fantasia – The scene with Chernabog is terrifying but still an amazing performance

8. Sleeping Beauty – The scene where Maleficent hypnotize Aurora is an example of a villain manipulating their victim. The dragon scene is also terrifying but also one of the most iconic Disney scenes of all time

7. Beauty and the Beast – Honestly, the main reason why I rank Beauty and the Beast so high because of the Wild West scene and the scene where Gaston tries to kill the Beast as his actions shows how people can be desperate for someone who doesn’t love them

6. The Black Cauldron – Every scene with The Horned King is terrifying but one of the most underrated Disney villains

5. The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad – The Headless Horseman scene is scary to look at which is why I rank this super high

4. The Hunchback of Notre Dame – It’s definitely a dark Disney movie. The Hellfire scene is terrifying to watch combined with the epic score and the cinematography. Frollo is definitely the scariest Disney villain to exist

3. Pinocchio – It captures the horrors of slavery in childhood. The donkey transformation scene is also one of the most traumatizing moments in Disney history and the scene with the Whale named Monstro is also scary, definitely a thrilling moment

2. Bambi – Bambi’s mother dying is also disturbing and the forest fire is also scary. Definitely something that kids should see with their parents by their side

1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – IMO, this is the darkest Disney movie. The Evil Witch trying to kill Snow White due to her surpassing her beauty is an example of how jealousy can turn into a sour note.

I’ve never heard of Black Cauldron before 😅

@AM-hk6ou April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

Honestly, the mystery real secret of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is DARK, but true.

@joannewilson1162 April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

The black cauldron does look scary (I have never seen it) but the hunchback of Norte dame starts with Quasimodos mothers death and a song about her blood on the steps of the church…that one to me takes the cake of being terrifying!

@helpyourselfimbusy5747 April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

The original fox and hound story is sooooo much darker.

@christinedaae7323 April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

Who voiced The Horned King from The Black Caldron? I think I’ve heard the voice before. But, I just can’t place it.

@aunalisejohnson2973 April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

Dark cauldron is terrifying

The Hunchback real story was darker

@mousemd April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

IDT Toy Story was a very good idea? All of my toys are gone. They bit the dust as soon as I became an adult

@jewelsabado7353 April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

7:33 Why you included Alice in wonderland?! How come that movie was actually scary?!

@timmy18135 April 26, 2024 - 4:53 am

You left out animal farm! Not as scary as the original, or as enigmatic, but creepy
