How to transfer your OWN Music to play through the Music App on an iPhone the easy way!!!
I spent days trying to transfer the music I actually own on CD that I had converted to MP3 files. Apple didn’t make it easy but I was able to get it to work with all the album cover art….find out how I did it.
This is coming from someone who switched from an android to an iPhone.

Here is a BRAND NEW tutorial that is MUCH easier to follow: https://youtu.be/OMOlmI05U9g
What happens if your computer doesn’t recognize the iPhone is there a way to still transfer your music to your iPhone
Won’t work for me because my laptop is too old.
no matter what charger i use i cant get my phone to connect to itunes on my computer and trying to transfer my mp3s from my ipad to iphone
I’m a little late to this video but when I’m at the stage of syncing the music it says I need to disable cloud music library to do this. Not sure what this means
Transfering SONGS/MP3's to an iPhone is the most Nightmarish experience that can ever exist on this planet.
I miss my BlackBerry!
So ironic because iPhones are sort of the great-grandchildren of iPods (music players). How is it not super easy for a person to sync or otherwise transfer all music and playlists. Also being a keeper of ALL my music natively on my iPhone, the problem I encountered after purchasing a new iPhone and then also purchasing a new Macbook (a short time later), is almost the opposite of the problem you encountered. I backed up my old iPhone using iTunes before restoring the backup onto my new iPhone. All my music and playlists successful showed up on my new iPhone after the restore from backup. However, ZERO playlists showed up on iTunes (or anywhere on my Macbook), and only music purchased from iTunes under my Apple ID showed up on my Macbook. If you think any of this makes no sense for Apple not to have long-since solved and made very easy, try using your Apple Watch (any model) to natively store all or most of your music (regardless of how much memory is available on the Apple Watch) so that when you go running or biking for exercise you can have all you music and playlists right there easily accessible on your Apple Watch to play on your Airpods (sans iPhone).
The primary reason I got my Apple Watch is so that I can use it while running or biking (which is the only time I wear it). It almost defeats the purpose how Apple thought you should have to transfer music to an Apple Watch. You cannot simply transfer all music. Don't you think Apple would realize a lot of people would want to put ALL or most of their music on their Apple Watch in a few steps so that they could listen to whatever song they own using their Airpods to go #%$@&-ing jogging without their iPhone? The process to put any music on your Apple Watch (as of the last time I attempted to add songs to my Apple Watch Ultra) is so ridiculous that it's almost no better than having to individually transfer each song, one at a time. And, good luck transferring the songs to your Apple Watch on demand right when you intend to, because those songs will only be transferred via Wifi (and, similarly, you will only be able to update your Apple Watch to a new WatchOS) at some point later only when your Apple Watch is connected to power and when Apple feels like transferring the songs. Ugh. End of Rant.
Word. Having things natively on your iPhone without having to access any data. Inevitably, there will be instances, especially if you travel to remote locations to, for instance, go camping in the mountains. For a number of years, I was able to use the TomTom (map navigation) app on my iPhone which allowed actually downloading the map data onto your iPhone, but it has been unsupported for ages now.
When I import, nothing happens. the Mp3 files don't show up anywhere
Hi Aaron, I've been syncing my music just like you've shown for a long time now and have never had any issues until yesterday 10-Apr-2024. After I performed the sync, some songs would appear on my iPhone but not play. When I would select them to play, I get an message that says "This song is not currently available in your country or region". After resetting my Apple Music App, now none of the songs are able to be played. Has anyone else reached out to you about this or have you encountered it? Thanks
Just a addition to my previous comment. I'm not the least bit interested in the art work. As long as the title is there, that is all that matters to me. Otherwise, thanks for the tutorial, though it still seems a bit complicated to do something that should be a whole lot simpler.
I assume you don't limit yourself to James Horner alone. Certainly he was a fabulous composer; he did some of the Star Trek movies, Titanic, for which he received a well earned academy award, Apollo 13, The Mask and Legend of Zorro, etc., etc. Then you have Miklos Rozsa of Ben Hur, Jerry Goldsmith, Alan Silvestri, etc. I've been into movie soundtrack since I was 14. I'm now 84 and still play that music, along with some classical, at home and in my car. Anyway, thanks for the tutorial on transferring music from iMac to iPhone. Happy listening to you.
Did you think to call Apple before spending 4 days researching and experimenting? I know the point is you shouldn’t have to for something like this, but they have pretty good customer service.
So, can’t I have my music on my Mac (or NAS), basically in my Apple Music library, and then download it from there as I please to my iPhone when I want something to play offline away from the house? (I can stream it from my Mac to my phone, but I have to be in the same house.)
Krull Ride of the Firemares (and End Titles) is my favorite music of all time.
I was so excited when I finally found the James Horner song from the ending of Die Hard!
I've had three iPod devices and the easiest one to use for music and audio books was was of those tiny little things that only played music. I lost it and replaced it with a Zune, which was fine. My two iphones, however, were stupidly difficult to use as mp3 players. More accurately, I'd spend so much time trying to figure out how to get music on them that I would just give up. I use my old Android phones as pure mp3 players, but I might give another stab at loading up this one old iPhone I have dead in a drawer.
I never heard of syncing music to iPhone without the cable. The way you just did it is the way I have always done it. Did you sync it wirelessly before?
A beginner watching this does not stand a chance thanks anyway 😮
What if you don’t have MacBook nah
Totally confusing and not helpful.
This is pretty useless as it uses Apple apps. We need this very same instruction, but with freeware apps, without in-app/ad/track-crap. Because Apple blocks 20-30% of your songs because of weird region restrictions.
Dude you just ramble randomly. STICK TO AN OUTLINE AND STOP HOPPING AROUND FFS!
But here’s the thing
We don’t have anytype of Computer or PC
What’s the next option?
“You can’t “!?!
