Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of World Games for the Nintendo Entertainment System developed by Epyx and Rare and published by Milton Bradley.
Originally released for the Commodore 64 in 1985, World Games was ported to the NES four years later by Rare and Milton Bradley. Yes, the same Milton Bradley. World Games is a compilation of eight minigames based on—you guessed it—games from around the world. Events include sumo wrestling, log rolling, pole throwing and even barrel jumping. The minigames vary in quality, but some of them are surprisingly fun—especially diving and barrel jumping. World Games is technically a single-player game, but you can pass the controller around for multiplayer. That’s when the friendly international competition of World Games is at its best.
This video review features video gameplay footage of World Games for the Nintendo Entertainment System and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

This review sounds like an extremely failed attempt at an avgn rip off
i thought it was cute that you put Bret as the wrestler's name because Hitman is you favorite wrestler.,
1986 lol
I just wasted precious time of my life watching this mediocre review.
Released in 1985 while the title screen shows 1986. LOL
Log rolling and the caber toss are real sports, idiot.
If you thought World Games was bad, then Winter Games (NES) can do even worse. AVGN just burned this game into, well, you know.
i have played this game alot on my amiga 500 and its great 🙂 i think one of the best sports game collection in this game era
Scotland. In Scotland they throw telephone poles. There isn't much else to do.
Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*
Which was the one where it had a gold cartridge with a handful of copies and now goes for $10,000 at auction?
I've just noticed that this game uses sound effects from Action 52…
Log tossing? Not a sport? have you ever heard of "Scotland" or its traditional sport referred to as the "Caber Toss"? Please learn your facts before you start calling everything absurd.
Where is Caveman Games when you need it?
Review – creative! Actual product game-LAME-O!
Derek, you're a total idiot. What you have there is caber tossing (a Scotland game) and log rolling (Canada).
That looks like a pretty shitty game.
The good old Epyx sport games. World Games isn't my fav Epyx game either but it's much better playable on the C64 than on the NES.
