For many people Quentin Tarantino is one of the greatest film makers or our generation. Films like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Kill Bill will stand the test of time as some of the best movies ever made. His 6th film, Inglourious Basterds will go down as giving us one of the greatest cinematic villains ever, Hans Landa played by Christoph Waltz. Christoph would go on to win the Academy Award for his performance in Inglourious Basterds, and the movie would not have been successful with anyone else in the role. Tarantino knew the entire film would hang on this performance, and he found the perfect actor to play Hans Landa in Christoph Waltz.

Name a villain more terrifying than Hans Landa…
Villain?
You lost me when you said a guy could "undoubtedly tare" someone to shreds because he is 6ft tall 😂
If it wasn't for Hans, this movie would suck. Why didn't He appear in another movie? What a missed opportunity.
anton Chagur no country for old men
can't disagree a single point you have made. The script was already well made and the actor made the scene perfect.
"May I have a glass of milk?"
It’s a great movie admittedly but the alternate universe ending to the European theater of WWII was a little silly. Hitler only visited Paris once in WWII. He flew in and visited in the early morning hours with the streets shut down, and was out of the country before anyone even knew he was there for security reasons. No way he would’ve gone to France for a movie opening, let alone with all the party brass. They did horrible things but they weren’t idiots
Landa's statement to Shoshanna is a taunt. "Au revoir" roughly translates to "until I see you again." It also is worth noting that right before the family is shot through the floor boards, he looks down down as he says, "adieu." He does this because it's the family he's saying goodbye to, not LaPeditte.
Unfortunately you are wrong, the farmer couldn't have killed Hans Landa easily, as the remaining heavy armed SS guards outside would then have killed the farmer, his family and the hidden "persons of interest" – all of them.
Tarantino is overrated.
Change my mind.
2:38 dude is chopping on a stump made me lol 1st time i saw the movie my gf taugh i was weird if you ever made fire ood you understand the joke
True that, either Christoph Waltz or Sir Daniel Day Lewis could have best portrayed the role of Hans Landa
Terrifying? I must of watched the wrong movie
It wasn't implied, that literally means "until we meet again,"
The most terrifying part of the first scene was where he let the girl run and yelled farewells to her, knowing he had just murdered her whole family
I thought that he played a great role and was really funny.
Best scene and Villain ever!
DiCaprio is anything but fluent in German lol.
His acting was a masterpiece! Tarantino is a horror film director. Nothing more and nothing less.
Christoph Walz makes this movie! Without him it would be medioker
Also, he says: "To you cows and to your daughters, I say 'Bravo'", meaning that for him, animals and people are the same, he will not hesitate to slaughter humans like animals.
In the German dub of the film, the French and Italian dialogue was left untouched, but instead of English they switched to German, which makes even more sense in German-occupied France.
Also, unfortunately, most German dubs don't maintain any accents where they aren't needed, so Michael Fassbender's character speaks perfect German, which makes the bar scene a little weird. Why is he called out on a weird accent when he doesn't really have an accent at all?
At no point was I scared, I'm not jewish.
Christoph Waltz is my favorite actor
I always wanna see on list till I die
In the German Version, they actually Shift to German…. And i have to Say its Rare that i do like the German VA Version over the Original English…. But i think in this Case, the English would be even better if they did the Same, and used Subtitels for German and France Language.
