This is the start of a new series on Dark Pixel Gaming in which we’ll explore some of the darker aspects of the video game industry and its history. I’ve been excited to tell these kinds of stories for a long time and have been researching like crazy. Let me know if Dark History is something you’d like to see more of! In this episode we go into the complicated history between Sony, Philips and Nintendo, in which the Super Disk, Play Station and CD-i were all a part of the Super Nintendo’s future. The SNES would have been an even better console than it already was! Plus, Dark Pixel? Dark History? It’s like we were made for each other!

Also, how crazy different would the industry be today if the Sony Nintendo Deal actually went through!!??

This would have been a shit show. It's a good thing it didn't happen. The specs on the found prototype weren't all that amazing. It would have just been an SNES with larger storage and CD audio, no major graphical updates.

Nintendo's decision to part ways with Sony was a big mistake, it's inconceivable that if these two consoles merged, a great game would be created, and in the end it was Sony who ruled the console from the first to the fifth series to date.

Gaming would be better if we have Nintendo PlayStations.
NPS1 = PS1 and N64
NPS2 = PS2 and GCN
NPS3 = PS3 and Wii
NPS4 = PS4 and Wii U
NPS5 = PS5 and Switch
Imagine how huge the game libraries would be. So many good games to play. The Nintendo games would also be better. Imagine Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl with PS3 graphics and better gameplay and controls. Mario Kart Wii looking like Mario Kart 8 would be sick.

Every company, since the Snes up until the Dreamcast (no DVD) did everything they could to make Sony the number 1 brand in videogaming, or it seems that way, extremely rare coincidences one after the other. Notice that nowadays only 2 companies control the videogame industry, one is Sony, and they aren't mostly focused only on videogames, few powerful companies controlling everything, it's called "monopoly", very suspiscious. Some of this is fake news, the Wii sold out like five Christmas' in a row. GameCube has never stopped being in high demand PlayStation has few collectors although was a good system

I think Microsoft tried to collaborate with Sony just like Sony did with Nintendo. Sony rejected it because of how they had bad experience with Nintendo and that's how Microsoft came out with their own console just like Sony did.

Oh i know "We the big boys and they like ants to us, there's no competition here" don't get me wrong though..thank the video game gods that Nintendo made that move...i love Nintendo to this day they're an amazing company that's different but the PlayStation brought their A+ game to the industry i mean in early 96 i wanted the N64 so much i was counting the days until i played a few games on a friend's PS1 and then got my own and from 96 onwards there really was no competition...terrible move Nintendo but it made video games exponentially better than they most likely would've been so more than anything Thank u

I'm going to say that Nintendo has a habit of making enemies instead of negotiating with Sony when they saw the loophole in their contract they instead made an enemy that is still a thorn in their side to this day

And the thing is the CD-I didn’t benefit from this or Sega both Nintendo and Sony left them in the dust the fact that all ended with the PlayStation it’s sorta good cause Sega would have never ever beaten Nintendo let’s be honest here they we’re a nuisance to them but Sony beat them and force them not never compete which in hindsight really fuck Sony cause the ps3 and sorta the ps5 now no one it’s competing no even Microsoft cause they are partners with Nintendo and have a mutual agreement while Sony its well there they don’t want to team up they still have bit of an ego but hopefully we get a turn around
