The Conjuring, directed by James Wan, is one of the best horror films of the 21st century. It looks amazing, it plays on the audience’s worst fears, and it is based on a true story. But how true is it? There are a lot of films that say they are based on a true story just to get in an extra scare, but those claims rarely add up to anything more than a disclaimer on a movie poster.

Throughout the ’70s, the Perron family claimed to have lived The Conjuring. The family members were thrown out of their beds, ghosts kissed them in the middle of the night, and they were preyed upon by the spirit of a witch named Bathsheba Thayer.

I live in Rhode Island and not too far away from the burriville/harrisville line where the actual conjuring house is. Whether you’re out there during the day or at night it’s a bit spooky. You definitely get a weird feeling. Like the town seems deserted but at the same time you feel like you’re being watched.

Just some constructive criticism, the background music is really loud and distracting. Its hard to hear what your saying. Maybe turn the music down a bit or chose one that's more subtly eerie than jarring. :)

My mother lived in a haunted house when she was around 12-13 years old. A couple years ago we went to North Carolina to see the house, and it LOOKS haunted.

Notice two things:
1) the negative entities' behavior got worse over time
2) the negative entities affected different occupants differently
Why didn't they affect everyone the same, and from day one? There is something important to understand there.

Little Johnny is a young kid who is always in trouble at school. His teacher, know that he and his family moved into a new place asks him how he like the new apartment. He says "I like it! But my parents think its haunted." The teacher asks him why? LJ says "No idea. The guy who lives in the attic visits me every night a midnight and says he has lived here 200 years and never seen anything strange".....

After watching the Netflix documentary on "the devil made me do it" case, I'm convinced the Warrens were con-artists. But that doesn't mean I don't believe in ghosts. I just don't believe them.

It dont mention how Bathsheba was touching Roger and making advances on him, that why she was such a threat to Carolyn. She wanted Roger, that was a very disturbing part of the story.

Ill always believe spirits are real, and I am an extremely skeptical person who questions everything. But, with all the things that have happened to me, i have to believe in this shit. When you literally hear your name being called in the clearest, loudest whisper from a set of stairs going down, as youre about to go down - in the middle of the day, and theres no one there besides your bf at the time. It was his moms house. You'll have no choice but to believe tbh i tried to figure it out, well i made him look, there was no one else home. It was 230pm and we were about to go to burger king, we just woke up from a nap. His mom wjd step dad were working and little sis was at school still. A lot of things happened to me when I dated him, he told me he thought something was following me, i was like yeah and i dont think it likes you 💀 i would hear whistling, things would turn on, come off the counter but hearing your name is a whole diff kinda personal and scary
