Defunct Games reviews The Bunker, available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam.
As a full-motion video game, The Bunker excels in almost every way. It looks incredible and the acting never veers into campiness. It’s a thrilling experience with a satisfying conclusion. But as an adventure game, The Bunker is a bit lacking. The puzzles are overly simplistic, the journey is too linear and the interface doesn’t translate well on consoles. It’s a story worth experiencing, even if the game mechanics aren’t quite up to the same standard.

The story and the ending make no bloody sense whatsoever and The Bunker comes with some of the most stupid decisions concerning gameplay ever made. Quick Time Events during memory sequences? That somehow are supposed to change the past, which then again does not have any consequences? Until it has and your halucinations can kill you during a QTE?
And what was bothering me the most was the main protagonits. He is a complete and utter idiot and this has nothing to do with having to spand his life isolated in a bunker. He is just a moron, incabable of logic thought and of making coherent conclusions. I wanted him to die so badly.
