If you do BB curls before chin-ups it will help to make sure your bis are warmed up
@deanbaza8581 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Try some towel pull ups,they blast the forearms ❤
@abdurrahmansiddique171 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
I always knew chin ups were very good for the biceps, I just didn't know they were the best for it. Thanks for the pointer!
@zwleathers April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Ive never been able to commit working out like i should, but theres been a few times ive gotten into and biggest and most ripped ive ever gotten, i had a 6 pack, my arms n upper chest, the core, i did ALL of it with a simple pull up bar. If you have a nice one, im telling you, it really works
@higherresolution4490 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Supinated Pull-Ups for bicep development is best using rings. There will be no issues with the wrists. A much more natural movement.
@hastensavoir7782 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm

@FreeFlippaGGG April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm

Gentlemen I very much appreciate your content. I’m recently embarking on a mission to reclaim my youthful gains at 65. I just started to embrace machines like Hammer strength. Based on my age and injuries I find them so safe and smooth. The question I have is simple. Will machines compromise my functional strength. As I develop the ability to exert more force all of the stabilizing muscles are not challenged to the same degree as with free weights.

I find that doing some full power jump squats before a heavy lift it activates all my fast twitch. You only do that on the first set to prime yourself. Its why if you do not do this your first set is ROUGH, then you go to your second w/ the same weight or heavier and it feels lighter! Its because you activated all your fast twitch. You don't do that and your lift is harder because the lights didn't get turned on so to speak.

You are full of dog doodoo.
@khmak9387 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Don't gymnasts actually build their massive arms through isometric straight arm holds?
@majklknight7455 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Even Mike Mentzer said supinated pull up/chin up is best exercise for biceps.
@Segagens April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
It is for this reason Mike Mentzer said the close-grip palms-up lat pulldown is the best bicep exercise. It works the bicep more uniformly over two joints, the elbow AND the shoulder joint. Regular curls just work over the elbow joint, so all the tension stacked upon the lower end of the bicep.
@Brockthedog315 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Thanks for the lat pull down tip. I also do these with clip style tube bands mounted high. The isometric tip is also great.

Number 1 shoulder destroyer is the overhead press

Olympics gymnasts throw in bicep curls for cosmetic effect.
@owenduck April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
You missed the point, its the straight arm isometrics that make the biceps so huge. Everything they do is straight arm.
@modalize April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Imma tell a story. no thx

and what he brought up is so funny yes i cnt stop laughin
@Pnw208 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
To do a bicep dominant chin-up it comes down to scapula control. The muscle you initiate the movement with is the primary mover. If you start by retracting your scapula your back is going to pull you up. If you keep your scapula protracted and focus on pulling with your bicep you back won’t assist in the movement. The muscle you initiate any lift with is the primary mover. Initiate the chin-up with biceps and not your back and there you go…
@Pnw208 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
You didn’t mention rock climbers. They are lb for lb the stronges athletes. This guys literally do a pinky chin up. One arm pull up with their pinky only. It’s insane. Elite rock climbers can do a lot of reps of one arm chin-ups but the can hold the top for a long time too.
@x-techgaming April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Kensui grips are AMAZING for chinups. The Swissies V2 Max, specifically.
@x-techgaming April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Close grip bench..? Pfff. It's all about REVERSE GRIP, to maximize CHEST, and NOT let the triceps do so much of the lifting :)
@warlord2pfa April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Supinated pull ups?? WTF?... Chin ups. They are called chin ups. Don't over complicated it, Einstein.
@jamesconnolly3042 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Chin-ups for a dude in his 50’s, at 260 lbs, with baseball elbows, iddn’t likely. But I WILL incorporate a chin-up of sorts into my bicep routine starting today. But i think MY version of a supinated chin-up, it’ll have to be either assisted, or kinda like an Aussie pull/chin-up on the Smith Machine. Good stuff, as usual.
@jarradfinlayson4896 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Well, actually, it's not really just the chin ups that make gymnasts biceps so full looking. It's the combination of chin ups, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, PLANCHE!!! PLANCHE ON RINGS, PLANCHE ON FLOOR, PLANCHE PLANCHE PLANCHE. Your only half right.
@3AlarmBushcraft April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Great information.
@richking4705 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Chin-ups are king of the jungle
@dudetrustme8320 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
So people didn't know that a suppenated grip pull up trains biceps? It's a joke right?
@tjvincenzi3695 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Dips are the best for arms. It is equivalent to squats for arms.
@josephmoniz6029 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
Again it’s the weight load. I weigh 220 lbs no other bicep lift am I doing any where near 220 lbs of weight. So with a chin up that’s a huge load
@rocker8692 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
True but i think alot of it is mixing things up,to shock the muscle,ask Arnold.
@jacobhayden869 April 17, 2024 - 4:35 pm
It's true. Plus you get a stretch when you keep your back out of it.
