did you heard about quantum physics?

@Psychonaut-im3zz April 12, 2024 - 11:09 pm

What about Nvidia AI (enhanced) caustics. Could be a new feature.

then the one punch manga artist recently learned how to photorealistic draw this effect, in a few days

@GrazCore April 12, 2024 - 11:09 pm

I wish I could go to Corridor and learn how to do VFX in person. All of these videos feel so educational that I bet just being in proximity would help you learn.

@Twong3lol April 12, 2024 - 11:09 pm

@thewolfstu April 12, 2024 - 11:09 pm

I actually used this vid as inspiration after watching it the first few times and ended up using caustics in some background renders for my art and in a piece I recently did for Valentine's day I even used it to simulate an old CRT TV and it's been fun messing with caustics in Blender.

@thewolfstu April 12, 2024 - 11:09 pm

1:48 I want us to be able to one day open up Blender and not just simulate these individual elements but on a more complicated level to simulate the interactions between all of them.

Should have gotten a rtx 99999 ti ultra extreme

@PoppsMadeThis April 12, 2024 - 11:09 pm

I saw the caustics on a map from Modern Warfare and I'm not going to lie I was perplexed how they achieved it especially in real time not offline and I saw this video and the gobo sounds like the trick so thanks good video and the fact that path tracing is now 100x optimized is the best part.

@teresashinkansen9402 April 12, 2024 - 11:09 pm

Blender cycles used to be able to do some great caustics in the 2.0 era, you could put an image with an emission material and make a lens that then would project that image almost perfectly. Now that does not seem to work, the caustics are crape.

So on a 4090 it's maybe 50 hours? 🙂 And on a 5090 it will be even faster 🙂
