Children of men. Didn’t make a profit in theatres and not nearly enough recognition at awards season, though it being one of the best movies I’ve seen of the last couple decades. Seriously this movie is beyond amazing and it frustrates me that no one talks about it

Thumbs up to Blow Out and Millers Crossing. Agree re John Travolta.
One to add to your list....a Nartin Scorcese which doesn't ever get much press...KUNDUN. A stunning, lavish feast for all the senses , part fiction, but based on some truths about the early formative years of the current Dahli Lama, the 14th.
It's like enjoying fantasy - until you realise it's built around a real, currently living, person. KUNDUN is the name of the very first Dahli Lama
and the belief that he reincarnates himself periodically. It is truly worth a watch...

Clue is one of my favorites. If it's on TV I watch it even though I have the DVD. The best part is when the 2 in the attic and the 2 on second floor all run into each other. We always reverse and replay. Sometimes in slow motion. All of the cast is excellent but Michael McKeon is so hilarious. Well, they all are. "I had to stop her screaming!" And how Tim Curry says " Nuo". "Nuo?" "Nuo."

some of these are "underrated" in the critical sense, others ignored by mainstream audiences...

THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT - put aside your homophobia. ABBA turds and ping pong balls...
AVALON - few films better capture the spirit of the "American Dream"
BABE - 1975 biopic of legendary female athlete "Babe" Didriksen-Zaharias, who later founded the LPGA.
BEST IN SHOW - becoming a cult classic...
BOILER ROOM
BREAKER MORANT - "SHOOT STRAIGHT, YOU BASTARDS!"
CITIZEN X - low-budget but excellent HBO production about Russian police attempting to capture serial killer Andrei Chikitilo amidst Soviet bureaucracy

CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND
COP LAND - unfairly dismissed as a studio "cop flick"
DROP DEAD GORGEOUS - Allison Janney ROCKS as trailer-trash "Loretta"

“Sky High” (2005) is the most underrated superhero movie. This movie was a theatrical release, but it mostly gained its following via the Disney Channel. The camera angles make the movie look like a comic book, and the movie focuses more on sidekicks rather than typical heroes. Also, Bruce Campbell is the gym teacher; which is awesome.

Don't really agree with half of those. Where are Sideways and Lost in Translation, those were criminally under rated on their release. Great films in my all time top ten

The Cable Guy (1996)
Directed by Ben Stiller. Stars Jim Carrey and Matthew Broderick.
Whenever I ask if people have seen this movie, they usually say they haven't heard of it, which is a crying shame. It is a genius dark comedy and slight thriller(?)
Anyways, I think its a great watch if you're a fan of Jim Carrey's comedic and dramatic portrayals, because it has both.

Kathryn Bigelow is the epitome of underrated films but at the top of her list I'd say is Near Dark. A great film that many haven't heard from.

thief (1981) was such a boring movie. I gave up after an hour watching it. I don't think there's a single movie on here I'd check out.
