For whatever reason, in my mind I always thought Ex Machina was a Black Mirror episode. Maybe because the main actor was in an actual episode or the dark tech theme

COME ON with #1 being Taxi Driver. You will not find people standing in one place, never moving beyond that and as such...you cannot justify this choice. This is archaic nostalgia, which this list is not. Doesn't fit at all.
