2016 wws such an innocent time…

@filthybonnet April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

Fleetwood Mac actually allowed Bill Clinton to use "Don't Stop" and they got back together to play it at his inauguration. Of course not without some drama from Lindsay Buckingham first. A few decades later John Mulaney cashed in on this with his joke: Bill Clinton's campaign song was "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac off the album "Rumors" which is about a bunch of people cheating on and with each other. He told us who he was from the beginning.

Enchanting the Savage Animal "Mankind's Fall into Conflict"

Music has a great healing power. This was derived in ancient times by Pythagoras himself, who was a deity and son of the great Thoth who was a god and his father, who invented the musical harmonies and also friendship through mathematics Pythagoras was the first friend to man and animals and his influenced reach many, though friendship is a matter of peak health and divine knowledge and available only to a few, thus music is a healing and enchanting provision used to convince to most sick. Mankind's peak state is friendship, but nobody really resides there, and they soon fail to conflict. Thus, their natural state can just be deemed as conflicted. Friendship is a dangerous prospect in a world of conflict and not for everyone. The Harmonies of the Spheres reach the planets in the Celestial Three-Fold Way and imbibe inspiration and healing power alongside lyrical rhetoric which affects the mind in chemical derivatives, giving forth the spirit and many healing agents, especially in manners of psychology and faculties of the soul. Early strings and musical parts were derived from the animal and, thus, possessed the healing properties of savage animals and may tame more savage and violent animals and also people. The relationship between animals, the spirit, and music runs deep within the vast traditions, and music is also used to enchant both animals and people. Many modern musicians use a dirty alchemic process that may reverse this healing inspiration, but this may be dependent on one's personal ailment and is not to be taken lightly. An example of the dangers of taming a beast lies in the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, where Orpheus convinces Hades to free Eurydice and then suffers a tragic fate. Selling friendship, good health, peace, and monogamy is an unfair recipe available only to a divine elite. Don't be fooled by an Orphean with a lute.

Why don’t they sue…?

@elaineb7065 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

@user-tv9fr9vs7s April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

Jokes aside, Nixon Now is one of the best songs ever. It was really better when they made their own songs.

@RoughStoneRollingLapidary April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

I will say though, its so interesting how this has become a thing now. It makes sense if they aren’t getting money for it but like until recently no one thought about it. The thing i dont understand is exactly how far it goes. I mean, when is a setting small enough that it doesn’t count? Like when i play the song at my house party or a school playing a song at a pep rally. Like where is the line? It does kind of seem in a way that its been put out into the universe and so it will be played in tons of places. Like, if at the campaign they played it off a cd that they legally purchased, what about then?

@MikeCee7 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

So technically, if these artists don’t give permission to use their song, what’s the penalty if they play the song? Isn’t it already too late to say, they didn’t/don’t give permission, after its already been played at such a big event.

@meganwynn372 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

what the f? trump walked out there like trent reznor making an appearance at woodstock covered in mud. Unbelieveable.

@matiasleder6804 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

@rasmuserikandersen4786 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

Dropkick 🎉🎉🎉

@chrisroio1219 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

It's the end of the world as we know it. Trump is a straight up piece of s*!t. Just imagine if Trump was the president during the Cuban missile crisis and he pulled some s*** like that.

@Vitrunis April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

Under French law, you cannot use an artwork against the will of the creator for political propaganda or such. It's called the "moral right of the author". It's not an approach based only on money or licenses which the copyright logic embraces.

@MrXHCx April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

When I was younger, I would not have expected Micheal Bolton to make himself so available for goof-em-ups.

@samrey1803 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

At this rate, republicans can only play YMCA forever in 5heir conventions and anything 🤣✌️

@Peoplearearseholes April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

Why not use the “Team America theme song”?

@annejensen1416 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

I know I'm late to this video but I feel like this needs to be said.
Josh Groban and Heart need to collab like now. Their voices would blend so beautifully

@jackbridges5913 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

“Raising McCain” will always be the best campaign song

@zis4zen250 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

Holy shit, that is a dark song.

@holdensanders2858 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

This is a banger

@haileybalmer9722 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

William Henry Harrison's campaign team wrote a banger from scratch. It still slaps. It was on Parks and Rec, They Might Be Giants covered it. If you want to hear a song that really sticks it to Martin Van Buren, stop what you're doing and look it up.

@rct3isepic April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

Ok, but there's a thing called a P.R.O. or Performance Rights Organization. And essentially they pay musicians for when their work gets played in any public space without needing the songs to be licensed. So it's not illegal to play any song in a space like these politicians are.

@kaitlinbaumgarten3001 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

I feel like the biggest thing I learned from this piece was how much pop singers can't sing.

@ericthompson3982 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

Donald Trump not understanding licensing is completely on brand.

@samweldon8104 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

I think the main thing this video taught me is that Usher has the voice of a damn angel. I mean next to all these other singers he just sounds incredible (shout out to Bolton too tbf, he's not too far off).

@handlealluppercase April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

@TheQuashingoftheTub April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

The only way the Iran Nuclear Deal could have been more on the nose is if they played "I don't Want to Set the World on Fire."

@patoren3gou653 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

I find it kind of funny that the Imagine Dragons guys complaining about someone stealing their songs giving hes a shameless corporate rocker who pretty much gives his songs to any corporation that will have them

Granted this episode was made back when we still had respect for Imagine Dragons but I digress

@mandymoore5774 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

Is that Sheryl Crow w Usher???

@mandymoore5774 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

Born in The USA is such a controversial song too! He probably should have heard the actual lyrics.

@wayneigoe6722 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

1: Freddie mercury dead again at 69… Nice.

2: In his defense, its not like Mr. Mcfeely could afford the licensing fees anyway. Remember, those could cost millions… He'd need a lawsuit to get that kind of money.

@chroniclegames5677 April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

My favorite incident is when trump used the song fortunate son on the campaign trail. A song about people dodging the draft. This is ironic because trump dodged the draft

@Viking_Luchador April 10, 2024 - 2:52 pm

The Fat Bastard was also using CCR's "Fortunate Son". The song is about how the children of the rich and powerful rely on their parents influence to avoid the realities that the commoners have to live with, such as buying their way out of Vietnam.

But the truck nuts crowd just hears the first line, and starts circle jerking it to " red white and blue "
