In 2003 Sony decided to create the ultimate media box for the living room called the PSX. In it they packed a full PS2, digital recorded and DVD burner as a do everything box. Unfortunately it didn’t work out and only lasted on the market for a year before being discontinued. Today I wanted to take a look at the system and see what happened.

Buying one today. Thanks for the review
I hit the jackpot with one of these an eBay the seller was selling a bunch of these untested on bids all ending around the same time so I snagged a 7100 for £60 including postage soon as it turned up plugged it in thing booted fine and reads ps1 and ps2 disks been gaming on it on and off for the past few months looking on the hdd it was only ever used too record tv as it’s full of Japanese tv shows and anime things cool af
And thats how the XBOX came out
bro that’s a 📀 but ps3 screen
PS CROSS
Sometimes dust gets underneath the laser pad that destroys readability
Happened to my ps3
O cool ps-sex I hope it plays Brazzers beach volleyball
Wow. Seems like it was kinda ahead of its time. I would love ti have like a ps4 or ps5 with coax ports so it could double as a DVR or be able to burn DVD. (Yes i still very much use DVD)
You ever find a laser?
I was hoping it was a PS2/Fyre TV hybrid but there’s no “X” rated specific function at all 😢
Did you ever fix the laser, I replaced the broke laser in my PSX
the inaccessible controller slots are probably what destroyed this thing
Dude that's actually a cool idea a dvr and a playstation on the same device such a shame that sony couldn't make that work
I would like to know what games the PSX can play. Thanks!
Use it with a modified memory card and play from the HDD hehe good luck
EE (Double E) Zeus G+S = 26 = Z = Zeus 5+5(E+E) 10 = X Zeus
Record T.V. = R T V = Realitys ✝️ V(22+Roman Numeral V= 27) Realitys ✝️ 27
The plug in for the controller is in the BACK because from the Front (Present/Future) the Big Bang was Created (Back/Past). Therefore to "Control" the game you have to plug in the controller from the Present to the Past. Just like, Ready Player One, to get the First Key you have to DRIVE BACKWARDS BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE RACE (Before Human Existence). The Big Bang was created from the Future to the Past, instead of from the Past to the Future. Yippie Kay Yay MUTHA FUCKA 🖕😎🖕
So basically this is the PS3 beta pretty cool
Turning the PSX into a pc would be baller
This was a like a prototype to the ps3
250 gb is 2003?
I think the craziest PS2 ever made was the Sony Bravia KDL-22PX300. It was a literal PS2 TV combo.
I bought one of these here in Chiba for 1000 yen, was shocked that it is fully functional best 10 Bux I've spent lol
THIS should have been the design of the PS3.
I may be in the minority, but I don't think the PS3's design aged well. Today, it looks like a toy to me. Even in its day, it was memed for looking like a barbecue grill.
But this PSX looks like something that would match nicely under my TV today.
I thought PSX was PS1
this seems like its supposed to be a computer.
These things are super cool and I would love to have one. It's unfortunate that they're so hard to find in functional condition. Every PSX I've seen has a dead hard drive, non functional laser, both, or is just completely bricked.
it's look like developer kit
Reminds me of the Panasonic GameCube.
That shirt is so dope 😂 snaaaaakee!!!!!
That's piss poor thermals management, even for 2003. There's no excuse for that. Shame as everything else seems to have had a lot of effort put into it.
5:00 complains about ports being tucked away. 5:43 takes off the cover that make them easily accessible
I want to see this thing in use. Burn a DVD recorded a cable show I am fascinated by this thing what I don't care about is what it looks like in the inside.
Are you selling this?
Mini itx build shell 🤔
i think that this idea would work better in ithis time
📀 recorder
