Diablo 4 reviewed by Travis Northup on Xbox Series X|S, also available on PlayStation and PC.
Blizzard’s long-awaited sequel to Diablo 3 has near perfect endgame and progression design that makes it absolutely excruciating to put down. The story is a disappointment despite still being a noticeable improvement over Diablo 3 and there are some annoying bugs that need squashing, but the combat, the loot game, and both the sights and sounds of this world are impressive enough to smooth over those rough edges. Diablo 4 takes the strategy of refining things the series already did so well rather than giving it a more substantial overhaul, and that careful and reverent path has shaped this massive sequel into one of the most polished ARPGs ever created.

the best Diablo?! dude, you gotta come down from the drugs…
Who’s here because of gamepass? 😂🤣
This script is sus
Played it last night on Xbox game pass…. it's fun BUT… look nothing like what was made to believe it woud!!!
Awesome review, thanks a lot
Waiting for this one to drop on Gamepass, so bored right now
IGN: "diablo 4 9 out of 10" Last Epoch: 7 out of 10"
This game should have gotten a 4 or 5
Endless build variety? Perfect endgame? That's not at all the case here. It's a dull game at its endgame
Came back here after seeing the review of Last Epoch. IGN SHAME ON YOU!
Ill play it but im not gonna like it. 😕
Diablo is an awesome video game.
was going to try this.. but then saw the price
The best Diablo happened in the early 2000s with d2 lod. If you were there you know… if you weren't you don't.
This is the most mid triple A title ever
Don’t buy it. You can equip more than one weapons but you are extremely limited to one skill bar (6 slots) and one of the slots NEEDS to be saved for your biggest move (class ueltimate skill) ….. mobile apps are better or similar to this game.
lots of spoiler
For me the real issue is that it is Online Only! Don't know what the hell they were thinking 🤔?! If they had an offline campaign they would have had My money. But they didn't do that so they don't have my money…
Does IGN practice self-reflection? With an average user score of 2.2(!) on Metacritic, you might wonder how IGN could give this game a 9? Or has IGN become a marketing tool of the gaming industry?
It is a clicker. No skill required.
This looks like a game right now of the 80s or a lame game on your phone. Unfortunately im getting it bundled with the Series X because it was bundled and $200 off.
IGN is 🗑️
Thanks!
Diablo gameplay looks dogshit
Diablo 4 is more like "Diabloow; get on your 4 for Bobby."
The game is a big "Meh", not worth the 50 dollar.
Is it hard because 3 was the easiest game ive ever played even on hardest difficulty and was boring
Boy, this rating didn't age well…
Shame on IGN
Hate these kind of games
This looks too flashy. The first Diablo had the best atmosphere, imo. They never topped it, with any sequels.
No crusader class? I'll pass
From what Ive seen of this game its great cut scenes, crap game. looking down on the scene? Seriously, lets go back 30 years shall we. Very disapointing.
9/10? have u been drinking again buddy
Don't you mean figuratively? The opposite of literally…?
🙄 Moron.
Hey IG, why has 99% players stopped.playing the game within days of its launch?
Weak story? Lolwut
Thinking about getting it but not for a $79 price tag
So basically Diablo 3 got a better score
9 inverted
IGN reviews are as reliable as a crackheads.
Except it's total freemium garbage. Besides the disgusting business practices of extorting its fanbase, we're left with poor support and practically no adherence to customer will.
What a joke of a review
PvP is absolutely useless except for insanely overpowered Rogues. Get confronted by a Level 100+ Rogue and if you're any other class, prepare to meet your doom within seconds. It's laughably unbalanced.
So is IGN ever going to acknowledge they steered many people wrong? As far as I'm concerned, IGN is just as guilty as Blizzard.
