I've listed the links to all the free software mentioned in the video. I'll be updating it frequently with your recommendations as well. Make sure the check out the description for the full list.
I like obsidian for notes
Bosca Ceol means music box not accordion
So which on is the best?
unreal
So, Unity, Unreal engine and Cryengine not free software to use without limited subscription and features not open source? I heard Godot bad 3d game for advance than simple made game not narrative way or complex mechanics
"you know what i hate? wasting money." casually promotes a subscription for a service that you can substitute for what hes using to upload this video, youtube.
Cakewalk by BandLab is another really DAW you can use. Completely free and really powerful. Might take a second to figure it out.
is gidot only for 3d games? because i usally stick to trying to make 2d games
Piskel is one of the best so far.
As somebody who has used Gdevelop for about a year, it’s great! It uses an event based visual scripting language, if you can even call it that. Highly recommend for beginners, but I do recommend switching to unity or godot later on.
I know this video is all about free alternatives but for art software, if you have an IPad and Apple Pencil, Procreate is a really good cheap alternative. it does cost around 10-15 dollars USD (i dunno exact conversion rate) but it has all the tools you need + more for making art all in your IPad (could be useful for needing to make art on trips, or just used as a main art software like in my case)
you need to pay for unity features..?
7:19 what about Unreal Engine 5?
For music BandLab has a program that has many similar features to Garage band and works off of cloud so you can edit on phone, tablet, and computer. I’m still learning but it’s pretty good. However their library of audio clips that are free is much much smaller then Garage Band. It also has an AI generated that generates I think 30s of audio based on genre or prompt it’s not great but can be useful.
Could you make one for iPad plz
Btw the free GTA 5 app that i saw on my screen is fake im pretty sure its an ad but still
Idk what im saying amazing vid btw keep up the good work
i would slightly recommend using BlockBench for 3D modeling
its based off minecraft but u still can use it as like 3D modeling software, its free and fast for low-end pc (i can confirm that bcuz my laptop is 12 years old and still using blockbench to model and has not crashed on me while modeling)
i think one you should try that has no code is julians editor i an a creator on that app but the thing is it is on moble sooo
What about pixel studio???
A great program for audio engineering and video editing is reaper daw
Where can I get free assets for my game which will be used in commercial way? I know only Kenney 🙁
The best is RPG Maker MV
i watched this video about a year ago and I've been using brave ever since 🙂 so much better then chrome
This literally saved my coding hobby from dying out. Oh, also, I personally recommend Gamemaker, as it’s really easy to learn and recently changed their subscriptions, which are now a LOT better!!!
wtf, no blender.
You missed out Krita, especially for high definition art. Also KDE has a vector art program, Karbon, which got dropped due to no developers, people could pick that back up again, it's hardware accelerated unlike Inkscape which still has issues, AFAIK.
If people paid £/$/€1 per piece of software they use, it'll still be cheaper than buying commercial crap, you'd also be funding the development of the stuff you use meaning you'd be paying for features.
