I do love that Billy Squire album,😊
I was thinking Dennis Edwards "Don't Look Any Further" would be on this list.
Pretty sure he spent all his filming budget on coke 😂
This list fails to contain "Batdance" by Prince and THAT is a serious omission.
The Safety Dance by Men Without Hats could clearly be in this top
Hasselhoffs Hooked on a feeling is missing
The 80's might have been ridiculous….but today's videos are retarded.
Wht about rock it from herbie handcock
I loved Billy Squire
Great flashback 👌 😂
We need to talk about 80s music videos.
Something about those helmets I didn’t like – yes they looked too small INDUSTRO CHIC is a rather substantial like statement and would prob suit tiny rectangular glass boxed windows in front of helmet – think 1980s Soviet Nuclear Power Plant windows or those original white LEGO bricks with clear plastic covers 3 LED lights with clear Perspex covers. But then I Remembere!
American group (American) DEVO with WHIP IT! They wore tiny helmet like hats in their very ugly music video.
So go bigger – go more chunky and add 3 tiny lights.
I’ll even give u a Business Name for yr new range – DEVO DIVER – – Could sound it DEEVO DIVER or as in Australia DEVO (sounds L like egg) DIVER which actually means Devastated – DEVO!
Anyways Industro Retro Devo – it’s simple.
Howzabout Tainted Love, and Love plus one by Haircut 100…
And then they forgot Genisis with Land of confusion. Shame.
2:30 How couldn't you mention the parody by Paul Rudd and Jimmy Fallen
I like Thomas Dolby's song and video "Hyperactive" much better than "She Blinded Me With Science". Btw, Dolby was a guest musician on "Foreigner 4", playing a lot of the synthesizers.
Safety dance may be one of the most ridiculous videos , but didn't make the list
The scientist in the Thomas Dolby video is Magnus Pyke, an actual scientist who was popular on British television, and known for his rather OTT presenting style and sense of fun.
what, no Love is A Battlefield? with horrible acting and Pat Benetar playing a 30 year old teenage hooker who scares off some guy by shaking her boobs at him?
How on Earth can you call "You Spin Me Round" ridiculous? I was in a one-horse town on the Costa-Rican/Nicaraguan border 7 years ago and this came on the video-box. It was brilliant.
I've never seen most of these. I sure wished we had more than 3 channels, back then.
the '80s is pretty much like living in Tokyo Japan today.
Most of these videos are great. Must be an 80s thing.
You have to understand what DEVO is all about in order to understand their music. There are a couple of videos for your next top ten. Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel and Land Of Confusion by Genesis.
I’d take all of ‘em over a good chunk of what passes for pop music today.
She Blinded Me With Science is my favorite 80s song.
Years ago, Billboard Magazine said that "We Built This City" was the #1 stupidest song out of 100 songs. I agree.
I would have put "Land of Confusion" by Genesis in there.
I eas born 1992, a few years shy of the awesome decade that was the 80s.
I love the 80s. Every year it's culture and music and people are going farther and farther away…. it's sad. I love these videos. I love everything ridiculous about them. I hate 2023. Everything's expensive, nobody communicates what they feel, and people that have feelings are considered weird. Then they do the most hurtful things to you. You can't video tape in public because you will get attacked, a McDonald's Big Mac is $8.48 just the sandwich,
food has lowered in quality 8X, kids are disrespectful and you can't correct them, anxiety attacks and increased heart rate are KILLING ME slowly, 💔😭
I thank God for the 80's even if I wasn't there. Im out of work, might get kicked out from my apartment because i can't make rent and bills and rent increased 100%. Complaining doesn't do much right. But i can vent. This years have been so dumb. The only good thing is i met my Richi and Endocrinologist. Other than that, this human world is dark. I might die soon and i wouldn't be happier 😢😢 I'm burnout
How the fuck like literally my fucking dad likes this shit and i dont get how the fuck he likes this ish?, 🙄🫡😵🥱👁️🫦👁️
" I Want To Break Free " is not only the most ridiculous music video of the 80s but also of all time.
I remember a video that always showed on Night Flight but i can't remember the name of the band. It featured a red haired little girl and 2 adult men who were destructive to a piano. Very alternative kind of video and a very snyth song. Somebody help me with the band/song name please!
The videos for these songs may have been weird but they were pure fun. People now day don't know what real fun is. Everybody is so hung up on being "politically correct" and worried about hurting somebody's feelings that fun and humor has taken a real beating. Two things are true #1- you can't please everybody…somebody is going to get their feelings hurt. That is a given! #2- You can't be politically correct all the time and expect to find laughter. People today don't know anything about music and fun.
This video sucks
Is it PushingUpRoses?
Moments in Love from The Art of Noise should definitely be here!
Why isn't Nu Shooz Point of Return included? The music video is surreal.
I grew up in the eighties and curiosity prompted me to watch this. Now I’m reminded of all those weird feelings I got when some of these videos showed up on the numerous music videos channels aside from MTV. Ewww…….
