People forget, Microsoft is about their money. They will pimp Xbox until the very end. Not everybody can drop $2k+ on a PC rig. Xbox wants to capture the largest audience, not outsell anybody in any particular niche.
I hope that in the future xbox will come with blu-ray players so you can play your games on disc plus watch movies in 4k

I think Phil Spencer just said that to get more eyes on his event so even more people can see what the plans are for Xbox in the future. If they do release Xbox exclusives which I'm pretty sure he would want to do that but I don't think sony would want that from the fear of losing money and xbox becoming an even bigger monopoly, sony is forsure scared of gamepass. Personally I dont like the people who represent playstation because they aren't for the gamers they only care about just making money that's it and for nintendo I feel like their more for kids.
Even if this is true i don't think many playstation owners will care about starfield it seems mediocre

I think what a lot of what the proper Xbox owners don't see is how much better SX games will be, MS will be able to split the X from the S without technically splitting it.
Will Nintendo and Sony return the favor and allow their games on Xbox…

Sony won the console war xbox is just a software development brand there is zero reason to buy a xbox console anymore.

Hmm if games are available on all platform, the platform will sell on their own technical merits and not on "exclusive" (but not really) games.
The companies will need to focus on their hardware to sell.

I own both a PS5 and a Xbox. Comparing the hardware, the PS is just the better product. It’s stylish, really well built and has intuitive UI. I really get the impression that Microsoft used releases like Starfield to get people to buy their subpar products and now that they’ve capitalized on that move, they are looking to maximize monetizing their game titles. Overall, poor form Microsoft. Instead of being competitive with your strategy you’ve banked on manipulative strategies that yield profit but not a better product.
Still seems silly how people can get so butthurt over games becoming availible for everyone.
I've been a xbox player for over 15 years, and i did own other consoles as well except for the latest generations of consoles, and what can now be reconsidered old gen plantation, (ps4).
And for as long as i have been around i never once cared whether or not things like halo, gears or what not end up being availible for everyone because exclusivity in general is a cringe concept when it comes to gaming.
And as for the whole exclusivity as a concept y basically doesn't exist when you really think about it as both xbox and playstation allow their games to be played on PC which in ot self makes it so they are no longer considered exclusive as if so then their games would never leave their platforms.
And there is generally nothing wrog with sharing games with other platforms especially when Crossplay comes into the mix as it allows communities to actually grow as well as expand beyond their limitations of the playerbases they have access to for people to join.
And with crossplay you can actually play games with those stubborn friends that dont want to uave to drop $500 to $1000 just to buy not only another console but also thr exact same games you already had on your own console with the friends you want to play with.
All in all xbox is making the right call not just business wise but also playerbase wise as they will both make more money in the long run as games that were once exclusive they will get a percentage cut for any games that Microsoft has the rights to, as well as basically makomg the over all gaming industry user friendly by making ir easier to play anf connect with your friends on different platforms.
Sony on the other hand is still scared of doing crossplay because they dont like the idea of sharing servers with their competitors overall.
That and they don't like sharing in general as for the whole, Getting access to xbox exclusives and not doing the same in return when that just makes them look bad in general if they aren't going to pay back Microsoft's generosity overall.
Great video, well thought out. I think Phil has given up on the console race, BUT he’s looking ahead to a time when consoles aren’t relevant. When cloud gaming is a thing, where you can play without a console, it’s the library of content that matters. It’s not Xbox vs PS5, it’s Game Pass vs PlayStation Plus or whatever the next Stadia is. Console warriors may hate it but I think he might be making the right long term bet.
