Any one of those cards could be a centerpiece for any great display/collection. That is insane.

Another attractive component of major league baseball is patriotism. I purchased a 1946 Red Sox yearbook. Out of the 25 players featured, 23 had years of their career nullified because of military service in World War 2.

The 1946 yearbooks of the Phillies, Giants and others had the same summary of selflessness with a high number serving in World War 2.

To honor these baseball veterans and all veterans, I stand in silence when our great National Anthem is played.

Baseball cards aside I remember seeing some news program of special about some guy back in the early 80s who did nothing but collect memorabilia. He was about 50 maybe so since the 30s. And he said he just went door to door and posted ads in the paper if anyone had any old baseball stuff and collected that over the years. Remember until the 90s there was really no market for any of this. But he had baseballs, bats, jerseys, gloves.. of almost everything from Al Spalding up to Mantle/Mays and so on. It was unbelievable the sheer size and scope of his collection. Like "Here's the game ball from the 1908 world series, and over here is the bat Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run with. Here's a game program from 1885 signed by the president" That kind of thing. I always wondered what happened to that guy and his collection. Maybe some of it this guy owns now.

@rentslave March 28, 2024 - 9:04 pm
Shouldn't Eddie Gaedel's bat be worth big money?
@rentslave March 28, 2024 - 9:04 pm
You could have bought the whole set of '52 Topps EX-MT for $350 in 1973.
My second biggest regret.
The first is not buying Bitcoin at $10 in 2012.
@VanessaHansen4444 March 28, 2024 - 9:04 pm
Nice collection! Keep it up
@SPennell March 28, 2024 - 9:04 pm
This is the most outstabding sports card collection ever, I was speechless just watcing on the computer. Thank you for sharing a look at the best.
@jmacsss March 28, 2024 - 9:04 pm
I love this collection, but it does show PSA's inconsistency. The wood grain card has an obvious soft top right corner but got a 10. IDK why PSA is still the leader. It shouldn't be.
@jmacsss March 28, 2024 - 9:04 pm
What a cool guy, I could sit and talk with him for hours.
@BryanandOlga March 28, 2024 - 9:04 pm
