If you want a good-looking GMT at an attractive price point it’s slim pickings for you, my friend. Well, it was until Seiko released the Seiko 5 Sports SSK GMT back in June of this year at the affordable price of $475. Not only is it easy on the bank account, but it’s a damn good-looking watch too. What else do you expect from a watch inspired by the discontinued cult classic Seiko SKX line of affordable dive watches?

Still don’t get the cyclops….
Folks you can get a $40 Casio with two time zones, no need to waste $475, unless of course your showing off. Then you might as well get a Grand Seiko.
Track a second time zone in your head. It’s not that difficult.
Love Seiko, but for $500, I better get a sapphire crystal. If you can find these for around $250-$275, then the Hardlex wouldn’t bother me as much
Getting major vibes of Ben Stiller in Happy Gilmore.
Waiting for him to come out of left field with “How about a warm glass of shut the hell up?”
gdamn, that burger looked top notch 😀
Seiko is like lexus car for affordable price
Problem with Seiko 5 auto movements is the inaccuracy. For the price they wont regulate before casing them. I can't understand why Seiko won't use a good, less expensive quartz movement and dispense with the lack of accuracy. Use solar charging and eliminate battery changes.
He would prefer the old Seiko 5 logo???!!!
Maybe you should look at the 1960's Seiko 5 logos… Now that is classic and better than these two versions.
Loved the watch and the video.
I've never understood why the GMT watch function works on a 24 hour basis. Yes, I know that the concept of GMT itself is a 24-hour one, amd mechanically it's very clever, but if you're overseas and you have a 12-hour secondary reading, you pretty much know whether you're AM or PM so you don't need to be thinking in 24 hours scale and rememberingthat every halfhour on the dial is really an hour . Looking at a second ring which is essentially running on a different scale to the way you read your normal time is harder than just adding or subtracting the time difference.
What I think DOES work better is a 12-hour rotatable bezel which can show you the local time at a glance.
Having said all that, I will also say that I love Seiko and it's a goodlooking watch.
It's a good watch , but if you want better quality at less cost , get a Steeldive 😁👍
I hate that curved S in the middle-top
Shout out to the brand library
nice ring, which one is that?
This will go down in history as “The burger & fries review” 😅
hey can you share link to buy sapphire glass for the SNK model you showed here? I have the blue dial version and i have been looking for sapphire glass for it
I have the yellow dial version, and it is awesome! Of course, I removed the cyclops so the dial is clean and clear. I am not a fan of the cyclops on Seiko watches. I always do away with them when I get the watch.
pete davidson is reviewing watches now?
Nice review. Specs wise, I think I'll go for the CITIZEN PROMASTER MARINE Series BJ7111-86L. The Seiko GMT not having a sapphire crystal, especially with a raised cyclops date window is a deal breaker for me. Cheers!
Hardlex crystal? Waste watch
The friction bezel is a bummer
Exactly the video i look for, thanks!!
Wow beautiful watch. How i wish i can afford this watch😢😢😢😢
At the time, I worked in an office, and wasn’t a scuba diver. 😂😂😂😂 that was funny
I have multiple time zones displayed with atomic accuracy on the home screen of my phone, along with day, date and weather. So with everyone owning a smartphone, traditional watches today are little more than functional jewelry. divers tend to strap on a dive computer unless they're in for some Cousteau-era nostalgia. I'd say go with whatever design rocks your world, as long as it keeps good time anything else is just a fidget spinner distraction.
Blue or black ?
nice vlogggggg
Cool. I have the orange version. Its proportionally a tad too thick, but i still like the watch.
Buddy im a fan of your work. Great as always.
Wow, excellent review! The presenter is clearly spoken, likeable and makes many good points. Keep it up team 👍
Just ordered mine the “Batman” version. Macys had a sale got it for $390 after tax.
So for the first week my watch was on point. -2 seconds while week. Now it's about -35 seconds a day
After weeks of thinking.on buying this watch i ended up buying the seiko 5 sports sea urchin
I just don't get the GMT function. Even if I were a airline pilot I'd not seen in more usable than a timer. your phone with timezones much better for tracking time at home, it even tells you the time at home if you just press the power button. And the bezzle is just a useless gimmick most the time, or if you staying somewhere for a longer period that is a different zone you just do the most basic addition or subtraction in a second and it makes the GMT obsolete. I travel a few times a year and I'd always pick a normal diver bezzle over a GMT.
So can someone enlighten me, if I am missing something?
Solutions. GMT bezel on the SKX007/009/013 done.
Recently got this watch and I'm getting +1 seconds a day.
What a load of complete nonsense. That watch would be worth considering if it cost less and had a sapphire crystal. As it is the price makes no sense whatsoever.
Dude when did you join hodinkee????
Convinced and got the SSK001. Great video!
was that GoldburgerLA??
Makes me laugh when "travel" and the need for a second timezone is being mentioned . Everyone has a smartphone these days 🙄
