I’m your host, Darren Van Dam!

Tired of looking for good movies to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming services? Every week I recommend a handful of the best movies on Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc. so my subscribers never run out of good movies to watch on streaming. Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.

David Lynch’s movies are not supposed to make sense. The nature of his films is always based on a dream like state. That is what Lynch himself has said. Dreams usually don’t make that much sense, if you think about it. They are bizarre and kinda unsettling at times. Don’t watch his movies focusing on understanding them or getting real answers. just embrace the experience and enjoy the ride. That is why David Lynch is one of the greatest directors of art house films. At least in my opinion😊
Thanks for the great recommendations! Cool channel! Cheers man!

Lol... coherence was a whole load of nothing.
@RCHRD444 March 28, 2024 - 7:24 am
great recommendations 👍

coherence is one of the most underrated movies of all time and i like it even more as it is, with this rudimentary production that makes the action in the film feel closer to reality

I've watched a lot of similar videos about movies like these, but this one is really good. I've seen some of these films and definitely plan on watching the ones I haven't. Thanks.

Elizabeth Olsen gets naked in the American version of old boy which makes it totally worth seeing
@HikingWithCooper March 28, 2024 - 7:24 am
Nice! I’d add The Platform, In the tall grass and The Lobster. Maybe Time Trap although it’s a bit more mild. Subbed!

As an aside, none of these (of course) are on Netflix. Public libraries are a great place to find them on disk and you don’t get the artifacting from streaming.

Far far too many adverts in this video and selling things, just make a video without all that crap someone please😢

I want to invent a time machine so I can come back every day and click Like on this video! Now where did I leave those stupid weeble wobbles...

Russian film "Night Watch" is very well done where the English captioning is stylized to each scene (and sadly lacking in the sequel Day Watch).

On the disturbing, very envelope pushing, end of the spectrum, Darren Aronofsky's "mother!" and Lars von Trier's "Antichrist" are 2 that will forever be engrained into my psyche.

One hour photo was a great film. Never saw that side of Robin Williams before that.
@carrieorsel1340 March 28, 2024 - 7:24 am
I LOVED One Hour Photo. Robin Williams, brilliant in every role ever

Love EXAM!

Bravo for highlighting cohesrence its trippy plus. I like the low production i feel it makes the experience more real more tactile. It literally feels like you are alt the dinnerparty

I'm embarrassed to say that very few titles on your list were familiar to me. When you named your number one, though, I felt strangely relieved. Mulholland Drive is easily one of my all-time non-negotiable FAVORITE chunks of entertainment.

I just have to say, Primer is legit. I found that movie by chance on a list many years ago and it is now one of my favorite time travel movies.

The first time I watched Primer, I immediately started the movie over again and watched it a second time (I skipped some parts).

It's just one of those movies where that sort of Sixth Sense twist happens and you can never view the movie the same way ever again. It begs for multiple viewing because you're always making more sense of little details on another watch.

Didn't like Mulholland Drive loved the two female leads but I didn't like alot of the other weird characters at all. The main storyline and twists were cool but some of the weird visuals and characters just put me off totally. Coherence was okay but very slow, again some of the twists were interesting but getting there was not. Exam was okay but some of the behavior of the characters was weird and extreme and it just came of pretty average for me. I really loved One Hour Photo though which is probably my favourite Robin Williams movie by far.

13:30 I don’t think Rick and Morty time travel on purpose :)
@mikebonilla2534 March 28, 2024 - 7:24 am
Primer is so awesome 👌
@ante3807 March 28, 2024 - 7:24 am
You lost my respect when you recommended The Nines. One of the dumbest movies I've ever seen.
