@lisakaufman7366 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
He did know he was dying and he's singing about all the things he regrets. June is his second wife. He didn't treat his first one well.

9 inch nails performance ahs absolutely different vibe and story behind the song...both touch something inside of you bit at different levels at least for me
@johnoconnell9884 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
Frank Sinatra didn't write My Way – it's partly credited to Paul Anna. Sinatra didn't write any of his songs
@sandralybrand9425 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
This was the last song Johnny did, he died like 2 wks later.

My brother, just found your content and loving it! INXS brought me to this point (on account of me being Aussie) please do.yourself a favour and check out Glenn Campbell- Not.gonna miss you. Talk about a MF staring death down, its beautiful to see.
@injunsun March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
How does anyone not look up histories of covered songs? 9" Nails wrote and performed it, to some acclaim, or so I have heard.... (as a 55 year old American with a pulse (so far)). Meanwhile, their claim to fame for me is, "I Want to F*ck You Like an Animal." Sorry, I didn't write the lyrics. Johnny Cash's "Burnin' Ring of Fire" is kinda cool.

So glad to see young folks knowing and understanding their history. Much love out to those who don't turn their back on their elders! <3

@supersasukemaniac March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
8:33 to touch on that going back through Linkin Park's discography after losing Chester hits different, because it sounds like a cry for help.
@Violet-xg4bb March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
Paul Anka wrote My Way.
@_griffin82_46 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
When Johnnys daughter, Rosanne, heard the song she turned to her dad and said 'it sounds like you're saying goodbye' he said "yeah, I am." He knew.
@ericgaudet5488 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
Great job with your reaction to Hurt from Johnny Cash & no this song and contest is not from him the original contents and memes was from Trent Rezor from The Band NIN and what he was going through at the time but when he heard this version and saw the video he said this not his song its Now his talking about Mr .Johnny Cash.
@jdw9397 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
This is a masterpiece. I tear up every time I listen to it

👍👍
@TheTexasCowboy56 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
Something that don’t get mentioned really is how much powerful Johnny can make something with just a simple guitar and piano. I could be wrong but pretty much think that all he used in this version. This is why Johnny regraded as one of the greatest he didn’t need a lot to tell a story and move people.
@AB2B March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
Folsom Prison Blues is most definitely worth listening to; he actually performed it live at San Quentin. Johnny Cash was an amazing man, and honestly there are just so many from him that are must listens. His life is such an interesting story, so if you ever have the time or inclination, look it up.
@joeschmoe7324 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
As a nin song it was about strung out junky misery but for cash it was regret and loss.
@liamssleepyroom8808 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
Frank Sinatra didn't write "MY WAY"... Just to let you know
@spirit-cologne7453 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
The comparison to Frank Sinatra singing "my way" for me is somehow weird. Frank Sinatra didn't write "my way", it's a song written by Paul Anka. And - though being the best known version - in my opinion it is not even the best version. In contrast to Johnny Cash Frank Sinatra was not the kind of singer that could give you an authentic look inside his emotions through his voice an style of singing. He was a showman, nothing less but nothing more either. Authenticity wasn't one of his strenghts. If you want to hear an approximate equal intense and emotional performance of "my way" to the Johnny Cash performance of "hurt" you have to listen to Elvis Presley's version. There you get a similar intense experience.
@randystalnaker6700 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
Johnny Cash battled depression, drug and alcohol use for many many years, he was able to get clean, and get a handle on his depression, his love for God, his wife, family and friends got him through it in later years
@bigmac3991 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
You need to check out Johnny Cash - I've Been Everywhere

https://youtu.be/mNj6spCtUE0?si=V-FLkVL22LJJAmfo
@intothedepthscoco March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
The NIN version is just as passionate. The song is from 1994. It's coming from a completely different place, a young man stuck in addiction and regret. But that's the beauty of the lyrics, because Johnny's version brings you to the end of a life, with past addiction and regret . they both mean something.
@dylanlara6706 March 26, 2024 - 11:06 am
