Your rhythm is in your 'dominant' hand and that's the hand you should strum with. I'm left handed, I tried right handed it didn't work. Even before I ever picked up a guitar, I played air guitar left handed. Whatever hand you use to tap rhythm, snap your fingers etc. is the dominant hand.
