If you’re going to build entire worlds, you’re going to have to practice a different way of thinking. If you want to become a concept artist, you’ll have to practice and train your thinking differently than if you want to do animation or film concept art.
These are some of my formulas and processes that Ive used on the games that I’ve worked on.
Games I’ve worked on –
Fortnite (Environment concept art)
Overwatch (Environment concept art + Sprays artwork)
League of Legends (Character design + Environment concept art, UI + Icons)
Diablo 3 (Character design + Environment concept art)
Hearthstone (Illustration)
Burning Crusade(Character design + Environment concept art)
Wrath of the Lich King (Character design + Environment concept art)
Indivisible (Environment concept art)
Final Fight Streetwise (Voice Acting + Character Design + World Design + Cutscene Direction + Co writer on script)
He Man GBA (Pixel Art)
Terminator 3 GBA (Art Direction + Pixel Art)
CannonBallers (Character + World design)
Ikeda: The Scrap Hunter (Programming + Art + Design)
Goblins and Gnomes (Concept Art)

Sounds like hell
how did he colour the black and white?
how do you upload finished product without loosing the quality of an art? i use photoshop and cant figure out the problem i am having.
i know its a little of topic but when youre projecting a speedpainting can you put like a timer ? to give the idea of how much long did you made the art
Can you help figure out how many heads characters should be. Like Batman for instance, it’s says he’s 6,2’ so does that mean he’s 6 heads
I want to do character and environment desing😢😢😢
I needed this video more than I thought I did, thank you very much for this masterpiece🤘
Its The Fundementals of art ( Not Drawing )
I had no idea what to do and learn for character artwork, but your explanations helped me to think and act. Thank you very much.
How many concepts for a character or environment is a good amount?
as an 8 year old im inspired to practice concept art
I’ve been trying to figure out what I’d want to be in the creative industry, specifically in the animation industry , and this was so awesome to watch because every little thing you talked about is exactly what I love about art and just sort of… clicked. I love coming up with concepts and ideas in the blink of an eye and bringing them to life and challenging myself to do something completely out of my comfort zone so this was awesome to hear from a concept artist what exactly their job entailed and what it takes to get there! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!
I've always struggled with figuring out what I want to do, always thinking about 3D modelling, writing my fantasy world, painting/digital art etc, but you really hit a chord with me when you were speaking about how concept art basically combines all of that, and even with history too and cultures I love history a lot so honestly you inspired me greatly just now, I know I have the skills to do concept art and as I'm going into my last year at university I think I will make it a priority, even if I have to work to create someone else's world, its all good fun and one day I will create my own and employ others. LFG.
Is starting at 26 years old to build a portfolio with no industry experience or official education in the field too late? Assuming the aptitude and passion are there.
My god I thought you were ray stevenson at first , good video
BRUH THAT'S SOUND SO COOL! Sounds like my dream come true.
Do you think its too late to get into this at 31? Looking to go to school in September for a 2 year Visual and Creative arts course, which i can use to get into Sheridan's Illustration course with my portfolio that ill eventually build up
I want to be an environment concept artist. I mean, I’m not pursuing it as a career or anything but it’s the kind of concept art I find most entrancing and I’m studying perspective and such to get better at it. Luckily I already have a non art job and a degree because this field seems crazy competitive
I’m far from professionally ready but where does one look for working in concept art or any other design/comic/any industry?
That drawing at 3:00 is fire
Thank you. I'd love to be a creature designer for video games someday.
what kind of art degree would help with concept art ?
hi what is this software? zbrush or others? will be appreciate of u tell me, i would like to become an artist for video games
can someone tell me what does he uses to make all this art i want tp learn this
Thank you for this. I think I decided on what illustrator I want to be, since the only enjoyable thing I like doing is designing characters.
I also like the little trick about copying and pasting the main illustration, and using as a basis to make the back of the character. Thanks for the tips, I definitely feel super motivated to keep going!
wow
nice
Perfect motivation I needed 🤍
Do you think AI will hurt/take over concept art and push new artists out?
i dont know drawing whre to learn any tips ?
Sounds like a blast. No thanks.
almost looks like the hunters set from Bloodborne but in a Heavy Armor version instead, very cool design.
but i guess its mostly cause of the helm is reminiscent of the hunter on the cover.
