I have an Xbox and I agree with Asmon. That doesn't mean that an Xbox, right now, is a bad purchase, but pretending it is more than it is is a hard cope. I got an Xbox for couch co-op and the Gamepass conversion deal which provides access to so many games I would neither know about nor try (many of which have been a blast). But the future is likely PC and Nintendo.
With a Switch 2 and a Steamdeck, we get access to basically any game, tethered or handheld, and at a strong value proposition when compared to piece-mealing together a custom PC (fun, but not exactly inexpensive).
the truth is, that there are lots of people doing an IT job. and they (we) have a PC at home to learn about new OS. so i have the platform to keep close at my job. so why should i buy an xbox or a playstation ?! i have everything i need to play games. its just money for nothing… so fuck these consoles ! i don't need them

The guy was trying to say that if Xbox goes away, Sony and Nintendo will be closer to having a monopoly over the game market and will be able to jack up their prices because they’ll have one less competitor to undercut them.
I will start by saying, that Xbox and PC are usually day and date together.. so for a PC player that's not what the conversation is for and it's going to impact you, not at all. Xbox still is sticking with their fundamental exclusive strategy, so the heavy hitters you can feel safe aren't just gonna all start porting over anywhere. If they were to do anything looking at current examples, it would be to generate interest, and to hope to get those people interested in an upcoming release and that's all it is. This is to give games exposure, and a chance to make more sales which also will go into their future projects. The other gardens are just significantly larger, so it's foolish to not take advantage of those platforms. Xbox hardware is here to stay, it doesn't become irrelevant thanks to gamepass that the other consoles do not have. so they can pay msrp that's great. I'm gonna continue to pay $15 a month and play as many games as I want for that price. Three new releases a year basically pays for it. There's a reason consoles exist, it's an accessible entry point to gaming. Hardware isn't going anywhere. They need a home console supporting Gamepass.
Technically Consoles are Still PC'S. You can run Operating systems on them, i seen linux running on the PS4. If Xbox makes the Xbox S/X let you partition half of the storage to run Linux or windows, the Xbox can be a cheap gaming PC to play xbox games and PC games.

Ive always been an Xbox fan but I played PlayStation once. I feel almost no difference and don’t understand why people fight. Why can’t game devs make good games anymore? PlayStation releases a few good games, but I just want gaming to be fun again. I wish I could play PlayStation AND Xbox without having any issues, because they’re both good consoles.

I absolutely detest exclusives, and Halo serves as the perfect illustration of my frustration. When the original Xbox was released, I was among the first to get it, and it's still in my possession today; I continue to enjoy games on it. Moreover, I have three different versions of the Xbox 360, which in my opinion, is the pinnacle of Xbox consoles. However, my enthusiasm for Xbox waned significantly after that, leading me to switch allegiance to PlayStation due to a strategic direction by Xbox that I couldn't stand by.
This brings me to the crux of my issue with Halo. Specifically, Halo 5: Guardians, a game that's tethered exclusively to the Xbox One, a console I have deliberately chosen not to purchase. My passion for the Halo series runs deep—I've played every installment except for "Halo 5: Guardians" and have even delved into some of the franchise's literature. I dedicated countless hours to the first two games on the original console and even spent a considerable amount of time on MCC via PC. Yet, the exclusivity of Halo 5 effectively bars me from completing my Halo journey, denying me the full experience simply because it is restricted to the Xbox One platform.
This exclusivity not only alienates me as a fan but also represents a lost revenue opportunity for them, as I would have willingly purchased and played the game regardless of its reviews. But the principle of the matter prevents me from buying an Xbox One just for a single title, especially one for a console that does not appeal to me in the slightest. Therefore, my disdain for exclusive titles remains unwavering, as they serve only to limit access and enjoyment of content that should be widely available.
I'm with get rid on the anti consumer crap no more exclusives, I dont care enough about certain exclusives to buy a plastic box, its features that make me want to buy a product and this is why PC has the biggest user base next to mobile gamers when it comes to gaming on actual hardware, is the fact PC has the most features no one can offer, it has options no one else can offer and we have choices that the others WONT offer, and has the best backwards compatibility. if you get rid of exclusives what do consoles have RIGHT NOW that makes them worth buying? absolutely nothing, doesn't mean the console market dies because its already slowing down and people are switching to pc because they tired of the big corporations lying to them and taking advantage of them. So what do you do now if you're a console maker and to survive this because not everyone is going to switch and thats fine. Get rid of exclusives and actually make a good product, give your customers FEATURES that the other doesn't offer and compete for the customers dollar. Games should not be held hostage to a platform.

I have an Xbox and like it. But I agree that exclusives are bullshit. I didn't buy the console for their exclusive games but for windows integration, Gamepass, Controller and other reasons. I do miss some of the PS exclusives sure. I wouldn't care if Starfield was playable on PS lol. Someone has to start it. I would've liked Starfield to be better but I always dislike the stupid debates around "we" need a good exclusive etc. We just need good games and it's clearly better for everyone if games aren't exclusive.

Console fanboys are something else. I have friends that still believe that their Xbox graphics are equivalent to the highest end PCs today. They also believe that the human eye can’t see more than 60FPS. Therefore having more frames is useless 😂

God of War and TLOU2 are great films. They aren't games. The entire point about this is people are fucking delusional about Sony's and Nintendo's quality because they have a longer and therefore* more competent history. It's nostalgia and bias. It's fair and unfair. American companies are called out for their bullshit. Japanese companies get a pass. Russian and Chinese companies get brutalized and Euro(I'm Euro btw) companies are forgiven. They are all* corporations.
That does not mean the ps5 is miles ahead of the Xseries. I have both. They're both good. GP is excellent and much better than Sony's version. The XBOX exclusives have been pretty poor. Ok. Can we stop pretending that everything Sony touches is groundbreaking?

I grew up with a Gamecube and a PS2. Didn't have an Xbox until the 360 was out for about three years. Play what you enjoy lol. I like the Xbox controller way more than PlayStation and Nintendo. Have recently gotten into PC gaming and can say it's just as easy using Steam to buy and play games compared to console. Also the ability to mod games is awesome, tedious sometimes but still awesome.
When it comes to Halo, if it does go over to PlayStation, I will no longer use Xbox unless we get GoW along with Spider-man. Halo is our game and its history as an Xbox exclusive and basically the genesis of online gaming for console (Halo 2) should be respected. PlayStation is great and they should retain their exclusives. Xbox just needs to do better and have for awhile now.
