I'll bet Vegas casinos could fill a room with credit card imprinters!

I remember "Runaways" S1 episode that ended with youngest kid finding a VHS and wondering what it is =D

1: I don't miss the tech in the slightest, dial-up sucked. However, I did prefer the era since the internet wasn't run by corporate clowns yet like it is now.
2: When these were a thing, I was too young to have a credit card, so I can't really say personal experiences.
3: Before my time.
4: Impartial, digital is much much easier, but film wasn't a headache (like say dial-up was for the internet). From what I understand, some artists still prefer to use film, so film isn't 100% outdated, it's just very niche now.
5: Before my time, though I am sure a few things in my great-grandparents home probably used them.
6: Never owned one, so can't say much.
7: My mother owned a type-writer, but I seem to recall the eraser being built in, but it was a long time ago, so I might be remembering wrong.
8: These I remember, never used them much since I was a kid and the library didn't interest me though lol
9: I do remember records, my day-care teacher used a record-player for the kid's music, but I actually never saw an adapter before.
10: Ah DOS, I remember getting extremely frustrated at it because I would always type stuff in wrong. By the time I was using a computer on my own, Windows 95 had hit and it was like night and day.

Cassettes and vinyl records are making a comeback thanks to movies and tv shows like “Stranger Things” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” popularizing the 1970s and 1980s.

I’m 40 and I can relate to some of these. I feel old!

I know the typewriter itself is no longer recognized by today's kids. And the VHS, cassette and CDs are also obsolete by now. Same goes for the floppy disk. Today's kids also may ask what are websites like AOL, Lycos, Myspace, Xanga and Nupedia. I was born in 1992, yet I can just remember two of these things, or so.
@stephensnell5707 March 22, 2024 - 12:09 am
Actually CD's are still used but not quite as common anymore though unlike MP3 Files

I know I'm a year late to comment on this video but I'm going to make Gen X and older Gen Y/Millennials feel old. I'm gen z and my job made me get training on how to dial up internet in 2022, how to use a fax machine and how to use a rotary phone.
@judahsmall3023 March 22, 2024 - 12:09 am
As an 11 year old, I have a rotary phone, typewriter, fax machine, and old alarm clock. I find these old technologies cool, and I wish everyone could understand my thoughts, but nowadays, life is TOO easy for me... advancement stinks sometimes, does anyone here know what I mean.
@marcushenness6437 March 22, 2024 - 12:09 am
I haven't seen anyone use dial-up in 20+ years
@Carolyn318 March 22, 2024 - 12:09 am
When my late mom, late half-brother and I got our first computer in 2002, it was a dial up. The computer ended up in my room cause I was the only one who used the computer. I solved the phone issue. I got my own number to use with the computer. I don't miss dial up.

MOST OF THIS TECH IS ANCIENT!
@rmannayr2129 March 22, 2024 - 12:09 am
THEY WON'T RECOGNIZE ANY OF THIS TECHNOLOGY!

@preahko March 22, 2024 - 12:09 am
"Vinyl records MAY BE MAKING A BIT OF A COMEBACK"?! Jesus, who's out of touch now? Did you record this in the year 1995?
@COMPFUNK2 March 22, 2024 - 12:09 am
I’m an 80s baby and I don’t remember ever having heard of a physical typewriter eraser. My sister had a digital Smith Corona typewriter that had a “WordEraser” button though (although it never worked right).

Come to think of it, there was also a “correct” button; that never worked at all.
@erin0033 March 22, 2024 - 12:09 am
It's very weird hearing a typewriter described to someone hearing about it for the first time. It would be like me describing a chair to a caveman (or cavewoman).

Top 10 Technologies Most Kids Don’t Recognize Today

I feel like at least three children know what DOS is...
@joannewilson1162 March 22, 2024 - 12:09 am
I have heard of and used everything on this list…except those tube things and tube testers. I’m sure if I asked my parents they’d tell me about it but that one I was looking at funny. And for the record, I never used a milk chute to get milk. I used it as a small storage space! But I do know about them!
@da_m00n1ight March 22, 2024 - 12:09 am
I am 13 and know what all of that is. Also old technology is cool too! Like a lot of kids my age would say old technology is bad. But it's cool to use now.

There are modern film cameras. They're more advanced than the older ones.

Some companies and apps don't use Zip Codes anymore and yet you can still find apps that want you to give them you're Zip Code, We don't really use them anymore. So why as for them?
