I’m your host, Darren Van Dam!
Tired of looking for good movies to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming services? Every week I recommend a handful of the best movies on Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc. so my subscribers never run out of good movies to watch on streaming. Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.
Thanks for watching!

Oh man I loved Ghost dog
Nice shirt
While John Dies at the End is bonkers, it is 1/1000 as weird as the book. Both are awesome, but the book is insane.
Loved The Rover.
John Dies At The End is a phenomenal book
Great video, all interesting films (but check out the pronunciation of "neo noir"…
I loved ROVER
the investigator from citizen x is the same actor as the investigator from V for Vendetta. I have to wonder if that was intentional casting in V?
Spring Breakers is the sexiest movie of all time!
The Rover is already gone off Max—January ‘24
I swear this dude literally just lists every movie within the Apps. He has like 20 Netflix vids saying what Netflix vids are good.—
—When they only have a certain amount at a time. Go back a year and he’s listed almost every movie there. Same with other Apps. Why make a special list if it’s essentially everything ?
Cant believe I have missed GHost Dog, what a movie.
Under the silver lake is so amazing
13 is the perfect number, Flick. Better than 10, and serving the ADHD community better than 20!
Bobcat Goldthwaite?
The dude was a KILLER comedian; see his standup, and sitdown in the bath work. I saw him somewhere probably youtoobe.
Not pg 13?
You obviously have daughters. That is like trying to evade Ye olde grin reaper. Just surrender now.
But, seriously, Thank you for the comedy!
It’s Max FGS Terrible place
I thought I was the only one who loved The Rover. It's great. Like Mad Max but feels like it could be any of us.
Is James Franco’s look REALLY over the top given… 2023?
the Losers is a fun ride!!!
Free Fire is so good!!!
Ah wow thanks for The Losers and The Foot Fist Way, I really enjoyed them both, never actually heard of them, but that's why I follow the best movie channel on youyube, yours 👍
Most of the movies you listed show all your tastes in in your mouth.
Clickbated
John Dies At the End , one of my favorites, Under the Silver Lake is a unique watch, Ghost Dog cult classic, and surprised to see a few ive never heard of. They are on the list… I currently have about 500 film collection and just keep adding to it.
So , nothing worth watching. Got it.
Thanks!
I watched "Dungeons and Dragons" on your recommendation and loved it!! It had a Princess Bride vibe:):) Thank you!!
Not seeing "Willow Creek" on Max unfortunately.
"Losers" plays like a dude-dramedy…I dig it. "Under the Silver Lake" is freaking awesome—one of my favorite films.
the Losers & Ghost Dog are great movies.
You didn't need to spoil that John Dies at the End is a spoiler…you could have just said it's the title. Now we go into it knowing the end, which is a spoiler.
6:50 "see this? i shaved my armpits. makes me more aerodynamic when i fight" lol. i will never forget that line. so stupid. (pineapple express)
Good list, I’ll check it out. One complaint about the video, if you’re doing a paid promotion, why ads during the video? I got an ad every few minutes and that was irritating to deal with.
The Rover was amazing!
The Losers was definitely a fun watch. I think the end was a little silly, but overall it was a much better A-Team. Spring Breakers was definitely worth a watch if only for James Franco's overacting and all the scenes of 4 ridiculously hot 19-21 year-old actresses in bikini's or having sex (sadly in more of a PG-13 way than R). Citizen X is a spectacular film with great acting and unbelievably high levels of suspense. Great addition to the list.
Under The Silver Lake put me down a rabbit hole on YouTube for a week
WHAT! Under The Silver Lake is one of my favorite movies. I was hooked watching YouTube videos and reddit forums trying to solve all the mysteries in the movie. Excellent film.
Saw “Winters Bone” the first time on an airplane. Phenomenal flick. Important to remember it came before, The Hunger Games.
Where can I get that shirt???
Under the silver lake was amazing
Free Fire is so much fun. So funny.
Spring Breakers was kinda mhe
Pretty good picks! I’ve seen all of these and can also vouch for them, except Free Fire which I found boring and unoriginal with a wasted cast. Sorry! But everyone should see Ghost Dog and Under the Silver Lake. Winters Bone had four Oscar nominations so maybe hard to call it “underrated” – but great movie.
Some lesser-known gems I can add that I think are still on Max: Living in Oblivion (dir. Tom DeCillo, with Steve Buscemi and Catherine Keener), Tampopo (dir. Juzo Itami, funny and sexy), and Cronos (dir. Guillermo del Toro, his first feature).
Thanks, Darren for all your hard work over the years in finding all these awesome movies!
Spring breakers is TERRIBLE
"The Rover" is a masterpiece.
Under the silver lake
Sound interesting
Yes I am weird
Ghost Dawg is an amazing freaking film I'm glad it's on max
