Imagine if the armed forces of the CIS was unhindered by Palpatine's plans. They would have a serious chance of defeating the Republic. Logistically they are unmatched. They have plentiful ground forces and fleets much of whom, don't require food or medicine. Not to mention they have the resources to build thousands of droids a day while it takes years to train clones.
so the lesson is, it isn't a war crime in Star Wars to falsify a surrender as long as no one is left to testify?
Mar Tuuk actually survived Anakins attack by getting in an escape pod. We never saw him again, but the writers have said they’ve wanted to do something with him
Mar Tuuk was actually well-informed, looked respectful towards the jedi's skills, didn't underestimate his enemies and overall felt like he managed to remain calm and collected. He should've became a regular. We didn't really have smart separatist leaders besides Trench and maybe Kalani
I think an honorable mention should be Sanjay Rash from Onderon. He already captured the planet and declared himself king. Instead of trying to win the hearts and minds of the population by using the resistance attacks as propaganda, he ended up making them look like heroes by trying to execute the former king.
Lok Durd actually returned in a now Legends two-parter novel called Star Wars Clone Wars Gambit, both the novels being called Stealth and Siege.
Ratass got his ass kicked by Wayne
Ummm they were played just as the Jedi were played. They were pawns in Sidious’s plan to destroy the Republic, the Jedi Order, and to blame it on the Jedi and non humans -which the Jedi Order was largely comprised of AND LED BY ONE…I think blaming their downfall on anything they actually did is wrong because Sidious was playing both sides and as a result was sabotaging both sides so the war would drag on
How abut Dr. Nuvo Vindi? didn't he made one mistake?
Squid Monster for President. 😁😄😃
I'd say the whole government lost it all on one mistake. Trusting Sidious.
Please back up from the camera. You're handsome, but it feels like you are in my space.
Love your content however are you going to be making any more high republic videos?
Loathsom wasn't a fool, he was abiding by the rules of engagement…and the republic was doing war crimes.
In the Military, the phrase is; "One aw-shit wipes out a Thousand atta-boys.". 🙂
Before I watch the video, is it because they listened to Palpatine?
mar tuuk lost to warcrimes lmao
Hold on, Mar Tuuk was ordered to use the weapon on the village by Count Dooku. It isn't his fault or his mistake that Jedi had taken refuge their, it was an unlucky coincidence.
My theory with Wat Tambor is that, while he didn't think he would lose so easily, it was very clear that the Sith/corporate objective on Ryloth was to make the CIS unpopular and to make sure Cham Syndulla and other resistance fighters would remain loyal to the Republic, since Senator Orn Free Taa and Cham had a mutual distrust for one another, and originally Ryloth looked like it might leave the Republic prior to the cruel invasion, which would put both Sidious' and the mega corporations' interests at risk.
It isn't like the battle of Ryloth ended after Tambor's capture either, the remaining separatist forces continued to ravage Ryloth. Since Tambor was in on the Sith plan and had clear interests in a Republic victory, it seems like his plan was originally to steal a bunch of treasure and gtfo of Ryloth, leaving behind an ill-prepared droid army with enough munitions to cause long lasting destruction to Ryloth's people but without the leadership to pose a serious threat to the Republic. The thing that everyone underestimated was Cham Syndulla, and it is clear that his resistance fighters had been the ones delaying Tambor's plan. Since Palpatine had no way to control the actions of the resistance fighters, Tambor was now at risk, which is probably why we see Dooku ordering Tambor to evacuate the capital following the successful landing of Republic troop transports carrying thousands of soldiers and hundreds of walkers.
Respecting a truce isn't about honor and breaking one isn't clever tactics. This goes double for the supposed guardians of peace. Wars generally don't end with the annihilation of one side, they end with the two sides coming to the table and negotiating terms. The two sides can be relatively even or the negotiations can be very one-sided with one side having no leverage to do anything but accept the other side's terms, but that's how wars actually end. But before a war can end there must first be a truce. Breaking a truce is a pretty good way to ensure that a war continues for years or even decades because how can the other side ever be sure that any terms offered are genuine?
And if hypothetically speaking there's an autocrat that wants to undermine the credibility of the Jedi Order and justify extreme measures in dealing with them, Obi-Wan breaking a truce would be pretty good propaganda material.
General Whorm Loathsom’s mistake was he thought he knew who the Jedi were, that they wouldn’t use false surrenders, especially Kenobi. Which is sad since both he and Kenobi seem to be men of honor
4:10 Is that the Triforce printed in red or am I missing something?
To be fair to Commander Merai, his mistakes at Kamino was based upon false information, deliberately sent his way by Sidious in order to get him out the way and kill him in said battle. So that he could end the clone wars early in the separatist favour or sway Mon cal to join the separatist war effort.
Warden Sobeck also made a HUGE error when he denied the assistance of Darth Tyranus in hunting down the Jedi and their forces. Even worse he continued to stall Tyranus even at the behest of his tactical droids in pursuit of his own glory.
Once the offer was denied, only victory or death would be accepted. If he had accepted Darth Tyranus and his reinforcements, not only would he have had a much better chance of recapturing the Republic escapees, but if the Republic operation still succeeded he would not have held the full blame.

It is cool that you are even able to come up with so many fresh and interesting topics for your videos, let alone do the research and put it all into a presentation. Good job.
It's funny to me that half of these guys' failures are due to the Republic committing egregious war crimes.
Admiral Trench
Commander Merai
Wat Tambor
Osi Sobeck
Lok Durd
Capitain Mar Turk
General Whorm Loathsom
The Separatists's biggest mistake is allying themselves with a Sith lord. They have no idea that they signed their death warrants by trusting him.
Honestly, I’m not sure if you could really blame the last two because they thought the Jedi were gonna surrender, since they are meant to be peacekeepers
I love your vids
Pyramid separatists are such…. Like pyramid leaders….. Top of the pyramid ye' know!
“In war there are know rules, there are no nobility, no measures that your enemy will not take to survive…”🙏👍🏿💯🗿
I'd love to see some break downs of the halo or destiny universe I think they'd sit well here such cool content
Rule number 1 of Star Wars Warfare. If you're fighting against the Republic, don't trust a word they say.
Rule Number 2: NEVER fight against Skywalker.
These videos are so awesome. I'm happy how successful it is for you. Talk about star wars specifics and get paid for it. Seems like a solid life. Keep it up A wing
Great video! This is Canon for me!
Wat tambor is the best character
Eeeeeeoooweeee oooo
The republic : complaining about the CIS not accepting surrender and making POW
Also the republic : faking surrender to win against their opponents.
👍
Big mistakey?
Somewhere in the star wars universe there’s a planet of steampunk goth dudes the techno union ⚙️🔨⚙️🔨☢️☢️☢️
Since the Battle of Ryloth happened after the Battle of Christophsis, how come did Captain Mar Yuuk did not know about Obi-wan abused of the flag of truce, let alone deduced that Anakin most likely may pulled the same trick as his master? Plus, it is most likely official when it comes which Jedi Knight used to be Padawan to who before. So if Obi-wan did such a thing before, why Mar Tuuk never raised such a thought before until it is too late?
That’s desean Jackson reference was unexpected and lowkey.
"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." — Napoleon Bonaparte
Obi Wan and Anakin committing war crimes? Who knew they were Canadian.
