The new trailer for The Bad Batch (Final Season) is out and lo and behold at the end of the clip Asajj Ventress appears. The same Asajj Ventress who died in Quinlan Voss’ arms in the Dark Disciple. It wasn’t a random death, it was the result of Asajj Ventress’ long and arduous journey and transformation from a dark side assassin to a more positive charcter. Her death was supposed to be her redemption… what happens now?

IIRC she wasn't so much "buried" in Dathomir but laid to rest in the waters of Dathomir (which we don't see a lot of in Clone Wars, or Rebels, or Jedi Fallen Order), and we do see a bit Nightsister Force spirit stuff going on. Who know how all that literally washes out after Kenobi and Vos left? I can picture a sort of Nightsister revenant Ventriss somehow linked to the Dathomiri magic resurgence you see at the end of Ahsoka S1. It definitely has me more interested in Bad Batch coming up.

Hey now! Great video. I take the stance of fool me once, Yada, Yada. They claim the novels, comics, etc are cannon, but it's the same policy as before. They are only cannon until the TV shows or movies want to change it. I was angry after the changes to Kanan's story. It didn't need to be done. It's still a great story and I always had that mindset with the legends material. So now I have the same mindset with the "cannon" material. That sounds weird to say, but you get it. I'm much happier with that mindset though.

I know exactly what they’re doing ( Filoni is a traitor and scum), which is they are stealing the story of Mara Jade’s relationship with the five stormtroopers in “Allegiance” and “Choices of One”. Filoni is known for stealing ideas and repurposing them as his own, he’s a thief, no matter how you cut it. This is literally the equivalent of a stand up comedian stealing the material from another comedian that made that comedian famous and then calling it their own. This is literally happening right in front of us and nobody is willing to call this POS out. Why not just tell Jade’s story? I can tell you why, -because she’s a way more interesting and believable character than Ahsoka could ever hope to be and Jade truly can stand on her own. Ahsoka is a sidekick, always has been, always will be. More crossed arms and scowling please, my goodness, the depth of Ahsoka, she’s just amazing! More world between worlds too please because the creators and writers are so talentless, (Filoni) that they can’t come up with an original thought. And please, don’t adapt Star Wars books from a “MULTIPLE” New York Times best selling author and winner of the “HUGO AWARD” to big and small screen, -that would make too much sense, be way too easy, plus your ego wouldn’t allow it because you’d have to acknowledge someone else’s hard work!!! Instead, just steal bits and pieces from this writers masterpieces, twist them into something ugly and unrecognizable and then slap your label on it! “F” Filoni, he’s a POS!

Only been 10 years and somehow it's more inconsistent than Legends?
Ok, YES, retconning deaths and all, not great, Palpatines return if flashed out properly and written by someone more competent could have worked since he was the BBEG of the universe and only matched by Valkorion in power. He can pull bullshit out of his ass because he is the literal embodiment of evil. But as far as Ventress is concerned i find it pretty good that she is back. Several reasons, first of all being we didnt see her die on screen (but novels and etc etc, yes yes I understand). Second if it is decided that she lives past the Bad Batch we could see her involved in the current Thrawn/Night Sister saga, which could be cool. I personally thought that Shin would be the stand in for her naratively, but since she got stranded far far away Ventress as an old, powerful and experienced Night Sister could REALLY work. I still pray they greenlit Filoni to retcon the sequels as a timeline where Ahsoka dies in her fight against Vader and the current timeline being a better one. Thrawn war trilogy and possibly Abeloth trilogy could be the hypest thing ever if all these things are given to someone who actually understands writing a story and not self insert fanfiction (not the good kind of fanfiction as some of the good ones are top tier storytelling masterpieces). Hell, even Rey Palpatine in concept has great potential as someone who is constantly pulled towards the dark side and if they actually went there and had her turn evil (not get a bit emotional as the sequels made her), even if for the climax where someone pulls her back. Hell, if Rey had inherited Palpatines guile and wit, playing the game of politics and subterfuge, pulling everyones strings to achieve her goals. Sigh, they just made her a Mary Sue, with little to no actual reason for her to be connected to Palpatine when there were so many good options.
She's a welcome sight for those of us more casual fans who haven't and aren't likely to read the books.

I think there has been a running trend with nostalgia bait characters being either redeemed or maintaining their goodness all along. I think ventress will see herself as an independent contractor not working for the sith but for clients in general (the hutts, pike, Organa, etc.) basically if you can't use the legal channels she's a free agent.
Has literally no one considered that this could be in a flashback-type episode?
To be fair to Ventress returning, it's not like it's the first time someone had a complete arc and then came back. Look at Starkiller.
