I know there are a couple of typos in the motion graphics in this video. Something's been up with my keyboard lately, and somehow, I missed these even though I proofread it multiple times. My apologies. I hope you enjoyed the video.
Yes! If your hardware is modern 😊
You need to better articulate when you talk in a video. I can barely understand what you are saying 🙁
For retro achievements I playing on pcsx2. Ps2 game library is amazing😊
My biggest problem with emulators is that they give me no guarantee that the game I choose to play will go smoothly from start to finish. My emotional disposition when playing always ends up being somewhere between anxiety and doubt, which ends up ruining the experience in some way.
Everytime you say "I played 20 years ago…", it broke my heart a bit… 😂.
Damn Im old…
Btw, awesome video still…
The answer used to be a definite no, but with recent updates this is becoming a more and more interesting topic.
No it cant run marvel nemsis at all
Answer for your question from title: Yes…..
I will always keep my PS2. And there dozens of PS2's out, a must have for anyone's collection. But i would love to see native level backwards compatibility of the PS2 on later PS hardware. And love using Duckstation and PCSX2 on various different hardware.
On all these side by side comparisons I thought the real PS2 looked better. These graphics are like an art that was drawn for the canvas of these low resolutions so all this upscaling just results in an artificial, flat, generic PC game look imo.
I would rather play it the old way.
Pcsx2 absolutely can replace ps2, I've been using it for years and never played a game that had issues. Plus upscaling makes those old games look better.
I wish the android emulator got improvements as well… Right now i can play some games real smooth and even upscale (tekken 5, soul calibre, raw vs SmackDown etc) but gran turismo struggles despite setting it to native or even below.
Just started using it for gran turismo 4 and have to say looks pretty damn good with game set to 1080i and emulator video output to 4k on an Oled. A step up from the lower resolutions on a crt at least for this games. Have yet to try any other titles though and can't feel the input lag for this game that much (a game like gradius V or any fg be good to test out)
What's the game on 11:11 and 13:50?
PS2 was my last console.
Famicon, Sega Genesis, PSX, PS2.
After that PC master race.
For me PCSX2 is THE PS2 replacement for me. I still have my PS2 from childhood but the enhancements the emulator gives I can't go without nowadays. Also I don't know how GT4 is "problematic" it runs flawless for me, even when modded/enhanced.
Upresed with wide screen patch and anti aliasing it looks like games from another generation.
for outrun 2, the arcade version on teknoparrot is the best version to play imo.
yes, i cant play native ps2 gams nowdays with the huge aliasing, shimmering, especially on led screes. pcsx2 is by far better solution + textures modding.
I play PS2 on my Steam Deck, handheld or on a huge TV via a dock… Only time I have input lag that can be kinda percieved if you look hard enough, is when it is docked and I'm using a Bluetooth controller… However, I do hate newer TVs that add so much lag with their processing, and even if they have a 'Game Mode', there is still so much lag…
Even if it's not not I'm not gonna go and buy a PS2 and games right now, it's crazy.
The emulator is better
Thank god for subtitles.
PCSX2 2.0+ can finally play all DDR titles and other rhythm games with proper synch at 60 fps without stuttering or drops
PS2 with upscaler is the best. Emulators will always have large input lag, impossible to solve.
The cutscenes are always echoed and seam slow how do I fix this
It is for me. I used my old gaming laptop and with the power of Linux I turned it into a glorified retro gaming console. It works amazing on my TV using the CRT TV shaders.
Pretty sure that garbled text is just how MGS on PS2 is. I played the official HD version on PS3 and pretty sure it had that same issue. I wanna know how pressure sensitive situations in MGS work when trying to lower the gun when holding someone up without firing it work.
There are some games that might still have issues. I remember trying an old Astroboy game, where the game seemed to run fine, but the game would crash at the first boss, making it unplayable. I don't know if this was fixed, I don't think it was.
Another game I recall having issues is with Superman Returns, which is completely broken in PCSX2 1.6, but playable in 1.7 onwards, and still has minor rendering issues to this day.
no mention of parallei-GS?
As a matter of fact, the samsung s10 plus with wii mote controller blurtoothed, using dolphin bar to pickup the signal.. ported out with a switch dock, or steam deck dock , one time i had re5 running with a wii mote and a ps4 controller , you cant really just switch from ps2 to anything else on the base hardware. And all the extra loading and not to mention the literally insane prices on some physical copies … eh
Until they get Ridge Racer V working without all the textures issues my response is no.
One million percent yes.. once you enjoy GTA with save states, you dont just go back.
i don't like how the pcsx2 devs do nothing about the input lag added on top of the ps2's high input lag, i always use other platforms emulated versions for this very purpose
