This week, Daemon Hatfield is joined by Ryan McCaffrey, host of IGN’s Xbox podcast, Podcast Unlocked, and Max Scoville, host of IGN’s PlayStation podcast, Podcast Beyond. Why no Unreal engine Ultima Online😂?
Hellboy 2 in the thumbnail instead of hellblade 2… lol
Y'all forgot Kingdom Hearts 4 is also being developed on UE5 🙂
in other words… Redfall was not fun.
I'm Still developing mine they take time because the development on unreal engine can be pretty slow and buggy and pretty complexed
Unreal Engine 5 is still relatively new. Give developers another year or two before expecting the first wave of AAA Unreal Engine 5 games to roll out.
People haven't figured out marketing schemes yet
I'll probably test it on Fortnite?
Egine 5…at least 2024.
Yoh,
Want to be clear. Asking this with no salt. I'm an indie dev who uses UE. See current gen console games using UE5 have already released. Leaving me curious as to why people think a game engine affects consoles releasing games in UE5? Asking for research
This reminds me of the Killzone 2 tech demo we got back in the day. Hopefully this game delivers most of what is being promised in those visuals.
black myth, wukong
Hellboy 2? Wtf
DRAGON QUEST 12 WHAT!!!???!!!
I'm most excited for Dragon Quest XII
Sales are dependant on people being able to play, both on PC and on consoles. Until enough people have upgraded their hardware and the market is ready, only then will we see a deluge of true next-gen games.
Is your laptop okay? XD
in development? 😅 it hasn’t been released long, an Russia postponed Stalker so there’s that
I’m all for UE5 if game productions will be more efficient. Developer nowadays can’t even complete a full game without bugs or enough content. It’s embarrassing.
Hellblade 2 debuted with the official announcement of the Xbox SX almost three years ago. Microsoft's games are always "coming soon"
Better performance and better graphics with UE5 is awesome but the big thing everyone should be talking about is lowering production time. Getting more games faster, now thats the real win with UE5.
i’d rather devs spent more time on interactivity and procedural, emergent gameplay rather than looks at this point. games are for playing, not just looking at.
Why is Deamon in another studio?
Maximum football 2023 is using unreal engine 5.
Nanite is great but you have to ship a terabyte of data to players. Distribution is a bottleneck.
People get so hyped over these YouTube videos showing unreal engine 5 but show me a release date and an actual game then I’ll show interest.
How can devs move forward when they have to keep making cross gen games that have to run on 10 year old hardware? It's not just moving a graphics slider at this point. The CPU's in last gen consoles are dinosaurs that devs have to keep dealing with.
UE5 just came out. It’s not as if developers can make meaningful games in a few months.
Just give us Unreal Tournament already
Redfall doesn’t look UE5 at all
This was literally one of the best graphics of a human person ever and my guy says it doesn’t completely deliver. SMH. People these days
PS5 and Series X won’t be powerful enough to run UE5 with high frames at anything above 1080 RT off. 4k will run 30 max with dips. PCs will have the same stuttering and pacing issues, even high end 30 and 40 series cards struggle now to hit 4k, RT with decent frames. Since the whole industry seems set about 4k with RT we aren’t ready for UE5 fidelity yet. There’s a reason we’re hearing about PS5 pro already when still in a cross gen period.
Go back and watch unreal 4 demos and we still do not gave some of that sizzle still
I'm asking the same thing. Where tf are the UE5 games?
Love y’all’s work on this IGN segment. My only beef: where’s the Switch 2 discussion!? Rumours are hearing up and it’s only a matter of time. Would love to get more Nintendo representation on this show 🙂
unreal engine 5 is all a little bit unreal 🤣
This is ridiculous why is IGN hyping engine tech? The engine hype nonsense now became so spread that a normie gamer publication is hyping it?
Stupidblade 2
Didn’t tell us where the games are …lords of the fallen can’t wait
Will try to not be so passive-agressive, but you should know better, @IGN
UE5 was released as stable in april 2022, what are you thinking?!
What is up with this CNN style? Don't they work in the same studio?
Is Hogwarts Legacy used Unreal Engine 4 ? As well as Final Fantasy 16 ?
Tekken 8 for sure
We're ok on graphics already, it's time to pump the AI now. Give us AI TECH DEMOS!
Max looks like Fonz and the guy from Hi-Fi rush 😉
Ah seems the games that use unreal engine 5 are up my butt 😛
The next gen console launches just keep getting worse. We're halfway through this generation and we're still waiting for it to start. Def regret day one purchasing both systems
Your going to need more than a 4090 to play these new next gen unreal 5 games in 4k and with ray tracing all maxed out. Games that came out about 2 years ago you needed the 4090 to run them now like cyberpunk and watchdogs legion even Halo all maxed with ray tracing out. So this is going to be the same for all these new games coming out soon curent hardware won't be able to maxed them all out
