Movies To Video Games Reviews
Review #38
Toy Story for the Super Nintendo (SNES), Sega Genesis, Game Boy and PC (In High Definition), is fully reviewed and analyzed as compared to the actual movie itself.
Majority of this review was done playing the SNES version with some Genesis based moments mixed in. But this review will count as a review for the game on all four systems.
Feel free to comment. More movies to video games reviews coming soon.. suggestions and feedback welcome and encouraged.
Just a reminder, keep attacks and flames off of here. I will remove either without warning. Please see my FAQ video for more on my policies about such things. I try to run a clean place. Take it to private if you have a problem with me or others. Thanks again!!
Final score and break down of score can be found below:
They are on a 0-10 scale with 10 being the best score possible:
Story Accuracy to the Movie 7.5
(Pretty accurate for an older console based game on the various systems around at the time. Goes from point to point from the film and the cutscenes as well really tie it all in together. Of course there are some deviations and additions and a lot of points that stretch moments for all their worth as is the norm, but as far as movie based games go, it was pretty accurate for the most part.)
Music Soundtrack Accuracy to the Movie’s 7.5
(A lot of the songs from the movie are found within the game. “Strange Things are Happening”, “You’ve Got a Friend in me” to name a few. Some of the music is original to the games themselves but even those are really great and upbeat sounding. There isn’t a bad song found here and even better that they have songs from the film sounding so great. Too bad the SNES version though doesn’t have You’ve Got a Friend in Me though for some reason.)
Game Difficulty 5.0
(The real thing that will hold this game back is the difficulty. On any version of the game there will be very frustrating and just annoying moments that will make the game a bit unenjoyable at points. Difficult jumps, repetitive moments using hooks to grab onto, fast paced moments that require accuracy and luck. As well as rough controls especially during the RC driving stages. But it has its moments where it is overly easy as well at least)
Overall Fun 6.5
(When you aren’t dealing with the difficulty or annoying moments the game is a lot of fun. Reliving this great film is a blast at many points. Driving as RC, exploring the insides of the crane machine and venturing about in Andy’s room from the film. It’s all here and lots of variety and options to mix things up time and time again.)
Final Score: 6.75
Very Good

Hey Movies to Video games can you as well do Shows to Video games because you will have way more videos.
the snes one didn't have you've got a friend in me
I think the game has some really great visuals for the snes, it's also not a bad game too.
SpongeBob truth or square
I remember that game
Great vids! started making some mobile games myselve, what do you think?
A review that is not a review..
They just don't make movie based games like they used to. This is easily one of the greatest games of the Genesis' life cycle.
Review Rio for ps3 Xbox 360 wii
This video is cool
I have had the Sega Genesis Version for about 12 years and I still can barely get past the Buzz Nightmare battle. The game does have good play control though.
