After several days of leaks, AMD have OFFICIALLY revealed the Ryzen 9800X3D! Join us as we dive into the OFFICIAL hardware specs and gaming performance of the Ryzen 9800X3D unveiled by AMD. Not only did they reveal the improvement in performance vs the previous gen-s V-Cache CPU, but also vs the Intel 285K.
While these benchmarks are obviously not independant, they show IMPRESSIVE performance gains, and AMD also confirmed the core count and base and boost clock speeds for the Ryzen 9800X3D processor.
The MSRP price was also unveiled, and overall the Zen 5X3D processor is looking like a BEAST.

Its faster because its already OCed, bit comes at the proce of heat, alot of heat.
How much will this matter in 1440p – 4k gaming? I'm wondering because I may just get a 9900x if it doesn't make a huge difference.
Bit disappointing so will the top end card still have the lopsided 3d vcache?
With that list of games and percentage increases in perfromance makes me wonder if they excluded games that may have dipped below 7800x3d?

Mac M4 is rocking the field with Les Cost. Can buy a Mac mini M4 at a Intel VGA cost.
Even if its slightly inflated numbers and its like 140%, its still a pretty bad news for Intel!
Should I return my 7800x3d that I brought afew weeks ago and buy a 9800x3d. That is the question. Only got 4 days left on my 30 day return and haven't built my system yet.

Don't get me wrong, it's probably going to be the best gaming cpu and all that.
But it's ~8% more money for ~8% more performance, and that's if we believe amd's benchmarks (which I don't know why we should after zen5% debacle).
But even if it's true… it's still just 8%. It's really not a sensible choice spending almost 500$ for an 8% gain.
Whoever was interested, already picked up the 7800x3d in these past 18 months. You could have gotten it for almost 300$ ffs! Picking up this new one now for that price would be mental.
This is shaping up to be another flop launch like zen5 was, and honestly I'm all for it: if intel can't keep amd in check (and viceversa), consumers should, and we showed we can actually do it once already, we have to just keep at it.

still comes down to the price for me so most likely going with 7700X and just wait till 2026 to get a 9800X3D for the lowest price the 7800X3D went for that said can't wait to get my hands on the High End RDNA4 GPU

What I think: I think if Intel hadn't shat the bed, the 9800X3D would have been $450 like its predecessor.
