Demon's Souls is the most punishing because of the World Tendency mechanic. think of it as getting a counter every time you die, and the more counters you get the more the world changes, some weapons can only be found with a certain number of counters (at certain World Tendency levels). it's frustrating as hell because enemies get stronger the darker the world tendency is (aka having more counters)
Ninja Gaiden is one of my favorite games of all time
Slay the Spire.
300+ hours in the game.
Countless arguments on message boards about the ideal strategy.
Never made it past the 10th level of any one deck.
The game is a colossal FU to whatever you think is the best play style.
I was too stubborn to lower the difficulty at all so I went for a very rough ride of having difficulty stay at 30 with only one life to complete the adventure.
yer totally agree with super meat boy . if want punish yourself more try get +A each level … never actully completed game because determind get highest rank each lvl
I absolutely love Ninja Gaiden Black and even have it purchased and downloaded on my Xbox One. Thank goodness for backwards compatibility. Nothing since has impressed me the way Ninja Gaiden did.
“An SCP style control”
me an SCP fan
Wait… what was that?!
I had a coworker, back in the day, who would play Darkest Dungeon and name all of the characters after people he knew. Even as an innocent bystander I felt too attached to even hear him describe his play sessions. A truly ambitious level of evil, all around.
Also, if you want to talk real FROMSOFT difficult, the zenith of their offerings has to be Armored Core: Last Raven. Ostensibly, most of the challenge bosses are builds that mirror what the player can make, except that the enemy AI cheats like they're getting paid to do it. One variant of the final boss (because there are like, 7 different ways to play through the story, just in case you though merely "completing" the game was sufficient) has a ridiculously overpowered main weapon. But fortunately! can actually run out of ammo. Except when that happens she pulls out a wimpy side arm that should normally be dismissable, only her version will perma-stunlock you, and does more damage than you can possibly have health before it runs out its own ammo. So if you don't kill her before she runs out of ammo, you just lose. And you have to watch it happen.
Ghostrunner is brutal. Died 92 times on the tutorial level
At first i thought Jules was being nice, now I'm being to think he has obsessive compulsive disorder just repeating him self over and over, doing the same videos. I don't think he can stop.
Never stop saying demon's soul's like that love it 😂😂
Demons “SOOUULLS🥴” my fav part lmao 😂
whats the 2d animated game at 0.14 called?
"Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer"
-Our crazy Ancestor who unravelled all evil on earth.
Where is N++?
Yo the last part shooked me good. Thanks for the kind words
What about Exile the old amiga game.
5:18 = Mycaruba
I love Lobotomy Corp
Another world?
Yup I agree that Patapon is no1, hard to play, tough to beat. Good work
No Hunt Showdown, no EFT… But at least you got Darkest Dungeon
Pathologic
10 video games that had players in a scenario based on a real life event…
The only game I've never been able to finish, John Carpenters "The Thing" for PS2. The game sellers warned us, but we thought we were tired of "easy" games. It broke both mine and my buddies spirits Lol
Fallout brotherhood of steel it’s not hard it’s just painful
Heres some other difficult games.
God hand: there are 4 levels on god hand that increase as you get into fights and increase the difficulty of the game, those are lv 1,2,3 and of corse level die what's the best strategy to survive lv die? get on all fores and beg for you're life!
Underrail: the hardest difficulty is called dominating and before you pick it the developers tell you they aren't sure if you can beat the game on dominating.
Also dark souls 2 is the hardest one since its clear that the director misunderstood miyazaki's vision and made the game brutally hard just so it can be hard
First rule of darkest dungeon:
Death should be the first thing you expect when heading out. It should also be the ONLY thing you think about.
Better safe then 1 vestal alive.
Jules you really made me cry with the ending message. You're the man
I personally loved “Demon’s Souls” with gusto
I punish myself by knowing i am disappointing my parent's
Devil May Cry 3. So fucking difficult.
You cannot learn a thing, you think you know.
Where’s League of Legends?
Lisa the painful, in my opinion.
idk is it just me but out side of jules nd maybe one other idont really care for the males wen they do these videos i like the way the women sound better
This man said semi automatic…so yea shooting once would do the trick….fully automatic
So this may be just me but in tons of videos they have done about difficulty and bosses etc they would constantly mention dark souls, but never demon's souls until now that the remake is upon us (THANK THE GODS!)…is it just me or did anyone else notice this?
My mind when I saw the title earthbound
I love Darkest Dungeon, but it's such an RNG fest I can't stand to play it. You can have great heroes, with no negative quirks, the best gear, and a party composition that been successful any number of times. They can die in the first hallway, and there's nothing you can do, but rage at your screen. "Sorry, kid. That's just how it goes sometimes." No thanks.
Rocket League
I just get out of a breakup with my 2y Girlfriend a few hour ago, it was though because we loved each other but we seem to always hurt ourselves by our differences, I was taking the worst out of it… Because even if I treated her the best she just couldn't trust me, and did hurt me by that a lot, but I have to move on and never be where I fell great pain even if there's some love, I really appreciated your final speech, it's true that we shouldn't punish ourselves, we deserve the best… Thank you +10000 it was very much needed
5:18 when did they change the name of the game from "Another world"?
Crash bandicoot the OG punishment game
Love hearing Jules’ inspirational words at the end
DS2 had a boss that could summon a human player to attack you, Looking Glass Knight, no boss has been able to take away your Soul level though… thankfully.
Yay! Lobotomy Corporation got a mention ^_^
