Sarah Becker, who starred in the fifth season of MTV’s ‘The Real World,’ died earlier this month. She was 52 years old. The former reality star’s loved ones and friends took to social media to mourn when her death came to light, including former cast member Cynthia Roberts.

I loved Sarah and the Miami season was my favorite season because I happen to be living in Miami Beach at the time- I'm so heartbroken by this – such a huge loss to all of us real world fans I'm so so sad by this – I hope she is in a better place but I rather have her here

This just completely WRECKED me. I met her when I was 16 at the Family Values Tour (random trivia: this was also the same night Staind debuted “Outside” to the world and recorded the live version that made the song a huge hit) and she was ridiculously amazingly unnecessarily warm and KIND to me. We shared a sandwich in catering and talked skating, Primus, the logistics of “Reality” TV, and just life in general. We took a picture together and she gave me her AOL Instant Messenger screen name and we went on to talk once a night almost every single night for nearly 3 years. She was the living embodiment of positivity and compassion and she taught me so much in the short time we got to know eachother. I can’t even fathom the thought of her ending her life, and this world is a MUCH darker place without her in it. RIP 😢

I am so sad she was suffering. I had no idea she was going through difficulties. But I would cry every time I would talk about her. I couldn't understand why. And I wish this never happened. But, I keep the memory of her alive, for Sarah influenced me into never stop believing in people.
I never met Sarah in person. But, I may say there is something very special about Sarahs. They carry courage and humbleness, blended into their way to be: spontaneously opened and not afraid to live and move. I literally met and felt Sarah's huge soul on MTv, on the episode where she invites her infant roller friends to the house where she also lives to stay and enjoy themselves for a while.
Sarah digs movement, Sarah digs motion and now Sarah flies way up high and she's pure spirit.
May Sarah keep on influencing so many others on this journey.
